At Uddannelsescenter Sydøstdanmark (UCE) we are seeking a visionary and action-oriented chief who will be responsible for preparing UCE for the upcoming epx education and head our 10th-grade offering, GULD10.

Epx will be one of the biggest changes to youth education ever. For us, the task is about far more than establishing yet another education. It is about creating an attractive offering that gives more young people the desire to pursue a youth education, strengthens their opportunities later in life, and contributes to the development of our local area.

You will therefore also play a central role in ensuring that epx becomes a success in UCE's catchment area – Lolland-Falster and South Zealand.

GULD10 - a success to be continued

As principal of GULD10, you will have overall administrative and pedagogical responsibility for the offering and its students. You will become the head of a competent team, engaged with the target group and in creating the best frameworks for the young people.

GULD10 is an attractive offering for young people who want a year with both academic and personal development. Here, teaching is built on each student’s interests and possibilities, and the students encounter an environment where community, academic excellence, and attention to the individual’s next step go hand in hand.

You will lead a well-cohesed team with plenty of ambition and ideas. A team that is passionate about the target group, about the idea behind GULD10, and who wish that the many good experiences from GULD10 benefit the upcoming epx-education. The team behind GULD10 has year after year raised the quality of the 10th-grade offering in Guldborgsund municipality and this summer they achieved 99% on their mathematics exam.

EPX - a new task with enormous significance

EPX will not be a success by itself. It must be developed in close collaboration with other schools, our students, staff, and of course the local municipalities, companies and a large number of partners. It is a big job that requires a balance between development and daily operations, so we both create something new and safeguard the good everyday life for students and staff.

It has not yet been decided which schools will offer epx. However, UCE already has many of the competencies and experiences that will be decisive for a strong epx. Today we offer vocational education, gymnasial education, and 10th grade. We possess modern laboratories, workshops, and learning environments where teaching is based on practical problems, real-world projects, and concrete solutions. We will of course put that into play so that the epx benefits our region.

You will be the driving force that brings the school and other stakeholders together around the task and turn ambitions into a concrete education of high quality, strong identity and local relevance. In other words, ensure that we are ready – academically, organizationally and culturally – when epx opens in 2030.

Your main tasks

You will be responsible for

• being in charge of the daily personnel management of GULD10 and ensuring that a good offering is maintained and further developed
• coordinating with internal and external partners and representing GULD10 to municipalities, schools and others.
• supporting and, at times, participating in dialogue with students, parents and relevant authorities

leading UCE’s contribution to the upcoming epx in the school’s local area

• contributing to strengthening internal collaboration and shaping the upcoming epx-teacher’s hall so that it has a common professional direction and a strong culture around the new education
• creating coherence between UCE's existing educations, including GULD10, and the upcoming epx
• building strong partnerships with municipalities, companies and other partners
• translating the national framework for the epx-education into our local reality

We are not looking for an administrator. We are looking for a skilled leader who can both maintain success as a success and develop a new one in the form of epx. A pragmatist who cares about the good everyday life for students and staff at the school. A bridge-builder who can translate the big visions behind epx into an education that young people want to choose and who wants to assume a leadership role in the operation of epx when it becomes a reality.

As head of epx development and school leader for GULD10, you will report directly to the school principal.

Working hours

The position is a full-time role with no upper limit on working hours.

• Knowledge of and interest in Lolland-Falster and the region's conditions would be an advantage
• Have a genuine interest in students and staff and meet them with curiosity and respect
• Thrive with a broad area of responsibility and many diverse tasks
• Are a clear, decisive and trust-inspiring leader with an inclusive leadership style
• Have experience with larger development projects
• Have strong competencies and experience with school operations
• Have solid teaching experience from gymnasial education and preferably knowledge of the primary school 10th grade
