Since 2013 GreyBird Pilot Academy has grown from Aarhus to seven bases in Europe – from Dublin in the west to Helsinki in the east. Our students fly under the Spanish sun and across European airspace. With over 40 flight instructors, 12 Tecnam aircraft and a further 13 new Tecnam aircraft on the way, more than 200 students are currently training to become commercial pilots with us.

Summer 2026 was the busiest in our history. In June we flew more hours and taught more theory lessons than ever before, and in August our largest cohort ever started.

Aviation is a demanding industry to plan in. You will work with instructors and mechanics who have turned their interest into their profession, and with students who are pursuing the education they have dreamed of. At the same time you manage the rules that set the framework: flight and rest time rules for instructors, weather minima and requirements for maintenance and airworthiness.

Your responsibility

When a pilot academy grows as fast as GreyBird, it is the planning that determines how much we can achieve. Every day, instructors, aircraft, simulators and students across seven bases must meet at the right place at the right time.

It will be your task to build the planning that will carry GreyBird through the coming years of growth. You report directly to our COO and take responsibility for a small team. Together with the team, the instructors and the mechanics you maintain the daily operations and support instructors and students, and you step into operations yourself when required. You also work closely with external partners and management and ensure that procedures and master plans are followed. But your most important task is to look months ahead and ensure that the plan has accounted for the unexpected before it happens.

Your focus is on the strategic. You should

• build the medium- and long-term planning, including S&OP
• develop our planning processes and systems so they can carry the growth
• ensure that we get the most out of instructors, aircraft and simulators across all bases
• plan and coordinate maintenance of the aircraft with internal and external resources

In day-to-day operations you, together with your team, ensure to

• plan, coordinate and schedule flight and theory instruction at all bases
• monitor the students' progression against the master plans and adjust schedules along the way
• handle cancellations and rebookings quickly so operations continue without unnecessary downtime
• coordinate transport and accommodation for students when they travel between bases

Who we are looking for

You are among those who are really skilled at planning. You are passionate about the discipline, you see connections others miss, and you think in both next week and next year. At the same time you are the type who can take action when the situation requires it.

• You are trained as an engineer, cand.merc or have a similar strong professional background, and you have solid business sense.
• You have documented results in resource planning and capacity management in complex environments, e.g., in supply chain, logistics or planning.
• You have led people, or you are ready to take the step into a leadership role.
• You are best at creating structure from the ground up, and you keep your cool when the plan needs to change at short notice.
• You can bring together many different disciplines around a common plan.
• You master IT and planning tools and use data to make decisions.
• You speak and write Danish and English. English is the working language across our bases.
