About the job

Do you want to use your legal expertise in an area that matters to both patients and the health service?

We are looking for several health-lawyers to the Center for Treatment Complaints and Patient Rights in the Danish Patient Complaints Authority. Here you will become part of a multidisciplinary environment where lawyers, healthcare professionals and administrative staff work closely together to handle patient complaints.

Our task is among other things to contribute to legal certainty and patient safety in the healthcare system. Therefore, we place importance on all parties experiencing our case processing as professional, independent and transparent.

Your everyday life with us

As a health-lawyer you will work with various parts of the complaints handling in the health area.

You will among other things

  • handle complaints about healthcare professional activities
  • assess legal issues and make decisions
  • work closely with healthcare professionals and administrative colleagues
  • ensure progress and quality in your cases
  • clearly and precisely communicate complex legal and healthcare-related issues.

We are receiving an increasing number of complaints. Therefore we need more skilled colleagues who both have an eye for legal quality and for ensuring that citizens receive their decisions on time.

Opportunity to work with the National Abortion Board

Some of the positions are tied to the team that, in addition to ordinary complaint handling, also provides secretarial support to the National Abortion Board.

Here you will have a special role. You will, among other things, chair board meetings and participate in making decisions in cases concerning abortion after week 18, fetal reduction and sterilization.

In these cases you act as chair and meeting leader at the board meetings. Some cases must be processed quickly, and the work therefore requires a certain flexibility regarding both effort and working hours.

A brief about the Danish Patient Complaints Authority

The Danish Patient Complaints Authority is a multidisciplinary house with about 300 engaged staff with a background in law, healthcare and administration.

We handle complaints from patients about healthcare treatment and patient rights. Our work should contribute to legal certainty and patient safety and at the same time create learning opportunities in the health service.

You will become part of a workplace where different professional disciplines work closely together, and where we emphasize both high professional quality, collaboration and responsibility for the common task.

We emphasize that you

  • have an interest in or knowledge of health law
  • prefer to have experience with case processing
  • are motivated to make correct decisions on time
  • work systematically and purposefully
  • have an overview and can handle a large and complex portfolio
  • express yourself clearly and precisely – in writing and orally
  • take responsibility and plan your work independently
  • contribute actively to both the professional and social community.

You do not need to know all parts of the area in advance. The most important thing is that you have a solid legal expertise and a desire to learn about the health domain.

We offer

With us you get the opportunity to use and develop your legal competencies in an area with great social importance.

We believe in the value of knowledge sharing. The interaction between different professional disciplines is an important part of our problem-solving, and therefore we have a strong focus on collaboration, team culture and lifting tasks collectively.

You will receive a thorough introduction to the job, and once you have settled into the tasks, there is the possibility of home working when tasks permit.

About the employment

The positions are 37 hours per week, and we would like you to start on 1 February 2027.

The workplace is at Olof Palmes Allé.

You will be hired under the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

We expect to conduct interviews in weeks 46 and 47.
