About the job
Are you sharp at understanding contracts and motivated to contribute to the historic task the Defence faces, with Denmark's rearmament? Then you are the new colleague we are looking for to resolve disputes with suppliers on everything from uniforms and battle tanks to missiles.
About us
We are a good team of about 12 lawyers with a common trait: we are engaged, professionally ambitious and place a high value on collaboration. Together we have broad experience from both the private and public sectors.
We are the ones who help when disputes with suppliers arise over fulfillment of contracts. We work with materiel contracts for the entire Defence, and we collaborate across disciplines with military and technical experts throughout the organisation.
We offer a professionally challenging position where you will have the opportunity to work with the largest military contracts and negotiate with companies from around the world.
The position is in the Contract Legal Management section in the Contract Management & Compliance department in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Procurement Agency. The department brings together all competencies related to supplier management and follow-up on Defence contracts for materiel. The department consists of about 85 employees, distributed across five sections, each with its own professional specialty.
In addition to creating combat power for the Defence, a common feature for us is valuing cross-disciplinary collaboration, respect for each other’s professional backgrounds, and good humour. Integrity, both professional and personal, is an integral part of how we work, and we help each other in a busy daily life. We value an informal tone with room for dialogue and new thinking.
About the position
We are looking for a professionally strong colleague who enjoys diving into contracts and finding practical and commercially sensible solutions.
Your primary tasks will be
- Advice in breach of contract cases, including delays, deficiencies and other contract breaches
- Advice on interpretation of contracts
- Negotiation with suppliers and entering into settlements
- Internal handling of court and arbitration cases
- Procurement and contract-law handling of changes to agreements
- Contributing to the development of contract paradigms
You can be hired as a junior lawyer (fuldmægtig), specialist, or chief consultant depending on experience and seniority.
The workplace is in Ballerup and there is also the possibility for remote work. However, there is also the option to work from our location in Brabrand.
About you
We expect that you
- Have a Master of Law (cand.jur.) or Master of Mercantile Law (cand.merc.jur.).
- Have solid experience with contract law and perhaps experience with procurement law and public procurement
- Are trained as a lawyer with litigation experience, but this is not a requirement
- Have strong Danish communication skills and preferably also English
- Are good at building relations and collaborating across disciplines
Does this sound like something for you, and would you like to contribute to a field of great societal importance? Then we would be glad to hear from you.
Employment terms
Employment is governed by the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic associations for academics in the state (Academic Collective Agreement).
Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiating allowances. The position includes an employer-financed pension scheme.
The workplace is in Ballerup.
As an employee under the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-building, humanitarian and other similar operations.
Contact and application
If you would like to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact the section head, Mette-Katrine Gade-Jacobsen on telephone 2142 0234.
If you have questions about salary and terms of employment, you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR consultant Mia Nordbeck Carlsson on telephone 3266 5716.
