About the job

Would you like to make a difference for the citizens and the environment? Do you thrive in regulatory work, cross-disciplinary collaboration and complex cases? And are you motivated to be part of a strong team with high professional standards and good collegiality? Then you could become our new colleague.

We are looking for a colleague for the Environment Department in Technical and Environmental. The position is in the rat area in the Agriculture Team, where we are 5 who work on rat case handling. The eradication is outsourced to an external contractor.

About the job

In daily work the main emphasis will be on regulatory processing in the rat area and related administrative tasks. Therefore you should thrive on delving into case processing – but also be ready to accompany the pest control contractor with inspections when the situation requires it. Sometimes things move quickly, and you must be ready to adapt.

We provide thorough training, and you will become part of a department where sparring and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life. Several of the tasks have high complexity in that several parties are involved in the case processing – including property owners, utility companies and road authorities.

Here are examples of tasks you will be responsible for

  • Regulatory handling of rat reports and rat infestations, including cases concerning sewer defects.
  • System responsibility for the team's subject system in the rat area.
  • Administrative tasks including, among other things, finance, action plans, strategic work, data management and communication.
  • Contribution to the daily operations and development of the municipality's efforts in the rat area.
  • Supervision and follow-up in collaboration with the pest control company.
  • Case processing regarding the installation and maintenance of rat barriers.

About you

You have a relevant education within the environmental field – preferably with technical insight. You could be an engineer, environmental technologist, or have another natural science or technical education. The most important is that you have an interest in the rat area and a desire to work with regulatory tasks.

You will interact with citizens as well as other authorities and partners. Therefore you are likely outgoing, and it is important that you work solution-oriented through constructive dialogue and are strong in written communication.

We envision that you

  • Work in a structured way with a focus on quality in case processing.
  • Take responsibility for your tasks and follow them through to the end.
  • Thrive in a team where collaboration, sparring and knowledge sharing are highly valued.
  • Contribute positively to the community and help colleagues when needed.
  • Be open, flexible and approach new tasks with a positive attitude.
  • Have an interest in or experience with legislation in the rat area.
  • Having a knack for IT and a desire to support the use of the team's knowledge systems.

It is advantageous if you have experience with municipal rat case handling or environmental case handling in general, but it is not a prerequisite.
