About the job

Do you want to help create the financial decision basis for some of Denmark's largest investments in water infrastructure? And are you motivated by translating data and investment analyses into clear recommendations that support strategic decisions?

At HOFOR we face extensive investments in water and urban development projects to ensure supply for both current and future generations. Therefore we are seeking an investment analyst who can strengthen our work with long-term investment planning and contribute to a solid decision basis for management, executive board and board of directors.

Help create an overview of future investments

As an investment analyst you will become the analytical specialist in investment planning in the Water & Urban Development area. You will play a central role in creating an overview of investment needs and ensure that complex interrelations are translated into transparent analyses and decision bases. You will be part of the newly established Water Investment & Economics section, which you will help build. Therefore we expect you to be proactive, curious and good with processes, so tasks, roles and responsibilities are mapped and executed efficiently.

Your main task will be to drive a coherent investment planning and to develop and prepare our 10-year investment forecast for our drinking water and wastewater portfolios in Water & Urban Development. This entails ongoing qualification of investment needs, illuminating developments in the investment forecast through scenario and impact analyses and translating the results into decision papers for management, executive board and board of directors.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Prepare, maintain and further develop the 10-year investment forecast
  • Analyze and qualify investment needs in the short and long term
  • Prepare and quality-assure investment budgets, forecasts and prioritizations in collaboration with colleagues and leaders across the organization
  • Conduct scenario, sensitivity and impact analyses
  • Identify development trends and illuminate consequences of changed assumptions
  • Contribute to the further development of processes, investment models and financial analysis tools
  • Prepare decision papers and presentations to management, executive board and board of directors
  • Contribute to the building of the new section

You combine solid analyses with business understanding

We envision that you have a relevant advanced education in economics, e.g. cand.merc., cand.oecon. or equivalent. At the same time you have several years of experience with investment analysis, investment planning or financial analyses from complex technical or infrastructure-heavy organizations.

In addition, we see that you

  • Have at least five years of relevant professional experience with long-term investment planning and forecasts
  • Have worked with scenario, sensitivity and impact analyses
  • Are used to preparing decision bases for top management
  • Have a solid economic understanding of CAPEX and OPEX
  • Have knowledge of total cost of ownership and life-cycle costs

In this role we expect you to work structured and methodical with data and analyses and to contribute with insights targeted at supporting strategic decisions across the organization. You are analytical, focused on quality in your deliveries and motivated by understanding complex problems in depth. At the same time you are able to maintain an overview and see the bigger contexts when different interests, projects and assumptions must be prioritized and included in one consolidated investment portfolio.

Your skilled colleagues are ready to welcome you

As an investment analyst you will be part of the Water Investment & Economics section, which is being built up and will eventually consist of several colleagues with, among others, financial and social science competencies. The section is part of a newly established area, Water Analysis, which today counts over 30 employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

We specifically use diversity to find better solutions. The culture is characterized by professional curiosity, cross-disciplinary collaboration and trust. With us you will have the opportunity to contribute your professionalism and perspectives, ask inquisitively and challenge constructively so that our analyses and decisions become better. At the same time you will help shape how we work together in a new section.

We offer flexible working hours and the possibility of home office by agreement with your immediate supervisor. With us there is room for you, and for you to have a sustainable working life.
