About the job

Time replacement sought for a boy aged 12 in Skanderborg Municipality

Are you interested in autism and ADHD, and would you like to make a difference for a child through presence, good experiences and a safe relationship?

We are looking for a part-time replacement, 3 hours per week, for a sweet and approachable 12-year-old boy who is entering his teenage years. He needs an adult who has time to get to know him, share his interests and give him good moments with room for coziness and laughter.

The boy loves gaming, both alone and with his friends; he currently mainly plays Minecraft. He also enjoys board games, walks and trips to Aarhus, where he likes to look in shops and play Pokemon Go. He takes care of his appearance and, like other children aged 12-13, wants to fit in and be part of the community.

He has autism and ADHD, which means that social relationships can require a lot of energy, and that he becomes mentally tired quickly. Your most important task is to build a safe and trust-based relationship and create good experiences based on the boy's interests and needs.

You do not need to have extensive experience with autism and ADHD, but it is an advantage if you are interested in neurodiversity, human relationships and children's well-being.

The job gives you the opportunity to gain concrete insight into how autism and ADHD can affect a child's daily life, social relationships and energy. You will gain experience in building a relationship with a child who needs extra support and sharing joyful moments.

The replacement is primarily in the afternoon/evening hours and on weekends, by agreement.

The replacement can take place both inside and outside the home. It is an advantage if you have a driver's license.

The boy lives in southern Aarhus with his family; younger brother (with autism/ADHD), older sister, mother and father.

We hope to find an adult who wants to be a positive part of the family's daily life.

Application

The application deadline is 10 November 2026.

Employment

The position is desired to be filled as soon as possible.

The task is paid by Skanderborg Municipality, and the primary employers will be the family themselves. A child and criminal background check will be obtained prior to employment.

Salary is regulated according to the applicable tariffs announced by the Association of Danish Municipalities.

The salary is paid as hourly wage monthly in arrears.

Skanderborg Municipality does not reimburse any expenses incurred for the substitution; these are borne by the boy's parents.

If there is a need to change working hours, the parents must apply separately by contacting Skanderborg Municipality's Special Advisory Service.

To the extent that the granted time increases, decreases or falls away, you are obliged to accept changes in the agreed working hours without further notice.

A substitute is covered by the Sick Pay Act's rules on benefits during illness and maternity/paternity leave.

Further information

If you want to know more about the job as a time replacement, you can contact digitally via borger.dk, att. Emma Jensen, who will ensure to forward your inquiry to the child's parents.
