HR Chief for the Copenhagen West Region Police

Your tasks

As HR Director you will be responsible for driving and developing HR work in the police district. You have the managerial responsibility for a substantial operating department, and you lead both managers and employees. You function as a strategic advisor and sparring partner for the district's top management and line managers regarding personnel issues, resources, as well as organizational and personnel changes and development initiatives. You are also the district’s representative in relation to Group HR in the National Police for matters concerning national HR initiatives.

About us

The HR department at Copenhagen's West Suburban Police comprises administrative staff, academics and police-educated employees who are tasked with supporting the organization in terms of resource management, personnel administration, education, duty rostering and development of the district's leaders and staff. The occupational health and well-being area is also organizationally anchored in the HR department. Both areas are highly prioritized in the district.

The tasks are extensive and complex, requiring tight governance, a solid data foundation and an approachable leadership style. In collaboration with the rest of the staff units and with close involvement of employee representatives and leaders, the HR department plays a central role in supporting the operational tasks in the police function and in the prosecution service.

About you

Our new HR Director stands on a foundation of good leadership, reflective capacity and strong relationship skills. You are also a skilled communicator and can convey a message clearly, both verbally and in writing.

It is expected that you have a relevant professional background and strong leadership skills. It would be an advantage if you have experience as HR Director or HR Partner from a larger organization, and that you have experience from a politically governed organization. You are secure in yourself and place the community first. You can create psychologically safe collaboration spaces, and you see diversity as a strength.

You preferably have several years of experience with managing operations and resource management. You have a visionary approach to the HR area and a focus on translating strategy into action and results. You have impact, are robust and credible. You navigate smoothly to ensure both stable operations and the achievement of the organization’s ambitious goals and development, as well as employees' motivation and well-being.

Salary and terms of employment

After negotiation you will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the current organizational agreement for office clerks in the state between the Ministry of Finance and HK/STAT as well as the OAO-S joint agreement.

If you are already employed as a civil servant in the police, you can retain your employment form. Your workplace will be the Police Headquarters in Albertslund, a half-hour transit from City Hall Square. We are close to public transport and green cycling routes. We also offer good and free parking options.

It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance, and you must be able to maintain the security clearance throughout your employment. Tests may be used in connection with the application process, and references will be obtained.
