Qualifications as an instructor
The positions can be applied for by students in physics and nanoscience who have completed 2 years of one of these bachelor degree programs. Other students can be hired if they are assessed academically qualified for the positions. In that case please attach documentation of other relevant qualifications, e.g., mentoring work or other teaching, high school grades or recommendations.
It is a requirement to be enrolled as a student in a higher education program. In addition, it is a prerequisite that one can conduct teaching in Danish if one wishes to teach the Danish-language courses.
We expect that as far as possible one has participated in the Instructor Workshop at the Department of Science Education (IND), if one has not participated before. In the program you learn didactic tools that you can use in your role as teaching assistant/instructor. Please attach a diploma from the workshop if you have previously participated.
Salary and employment terms as an instructor
Employment is covered by the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Association of Student Teachers: Circular on the collective agreement for Student Teachers at universities etc.
The employment as an instructor ends without further notice upon termination of your enrollment as a student. Your hours are arranged individually for each block. You are not guaranteed hours in all blocks, but must apply for hours each semester, after which the final total hours are agreed.
The pay amounts to DKK 259.38 per hour (August 2026 level)
