About the job

Would you like to use your experience and knowledge of the intensive area to strengthen the professional quality and development of nurses close to practice? Then the Common Intermediary Ward might be the place for you.

Who are we?

The Common Intermediary Ward, FIMA, as we call it in daily speech, is a small inpatient ward with 6 beds. Here we provide intermediary nursing care and specialized treatment to patients who are too complex or unstable to be treated on a regular ward. Patients are received from across the hospital, including from receiving wards, psychiatry, medical and surgical departments. The FIMA patient is often characterized by having several acute and chronic conditions, which require involvement from multiple specialties.

A common feature for the patients is that they have an increased need for observation when they are transferred to the ward. Therefore we typically have a staffing norm of 1-2 patients per nurse.

Our team consists of 20 nurses, 1 social and health care assistant, 2 physiotherapists, 1 intensive care trained clinical nurse specialist, and our ward’s responsible anesthesiology consultant.

Your role at FIMA

You will participate in the daily clinical work as a nurse on FIMA, but you will also play a central role in supporting professional development and sparring in everyday life. You will become a visible professional resource for your colleagues and contribute to creating a culture where we learn from each other, share knowledge, and collectively develop our practice. In collaboration with the head nurse and the clinical nursing specialist, you will help identify which competencies should be strengthened in the ward, and how we best support this through professional sparring and teaching.

You will have a special role in practically training newly hired nurses in close cooperation with the rest of the mentor team. In addition, you will have a close connection to the ward’s professional groups and help ensure that knowledge and development from the individual professional areas are translated into daily practice.

Who are you?

  • You are a trained intensive care nurse and have an interest in working with the intermediary patient
  • You contribute to a safe and acknowledging work environment across professions
  • You are eager to teach and be a professional role model
  • You are familiar with teaching – both planned and in the many informal learning situations that arise in everyday life
  • You dare to lead when it comes to implementing and developing in the ward

Salary and employment terms

Expected start date is January 1. Permanent position at 37 hours.

The position mainly consists of day shifts and 2-6 evening or night shifts on a 4-week schedule, as well as weekend shifts every 3rd weekend in 8-hour shifts or every 4th weekend in 12-hour shifts.

Salary and employment terms follow agreement 32.17.1 for non-leading staff in the Sundhedskartellet area.

Application deadline November 16, 2026

Interviews will be held in weeks 47 and 48
