About the job
Do you want to help create change in Denmark by taking on inequality? Are you interested in democracy, climate justice and civil society? Then read on!
Inequality is also growing in Denmark. It skews who has influence, weakens trust in democracy and makes it harder to build global solidarity and support for important causes, such as a just green transition.
About the internship
You will become part of the Public Affairs, Advocacy and Domestic Program department, where you will work in Oxfam Denmark's new national program. The program is a collection of projects that will address inequality as a structural barrier, strengthen democratic resilience and enable ambitious climate action. We work across the three themes with a primary target group aged 16 to 30.
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all parts of a project cycle. Both in the implementation and reporting on existing projects, and also in the process of generating ideas and developing applications for upcoming projects. You will work together with the department's other staff who handle analysis and public affairs, but also with external project partners and participants.
You will, among other things,
- Support the implementation of the program's projects through coordination, activity planning and follow-up.
- Conduct research and analyses on inequality in Denmark and translate them into accessible formats such as fact sheets, briefs or notes.
- Be involved in planning and hosting events, e.g., at the Folk Festival (Folkemødet).
- Provide input and help qualify new project proposals.
- Contribute to documenting the program's results and learning.
Your competencies
You are a student in a longer tertiary education program in, e.g., political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, communication, sustainability, global studies or similar, and we would like you to be in the final year of your bachelor’s or starting your master’s.
You find it exciting to connect knowledge and analysis with engagement and action. You are comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative methods and are not afraid to dive into a report or a dataset, but you are just as happy to be involved in planning a workshop or an event. You are comfortable communicating in both Danish and English, and you can convey complex topics clearly and engagingly. You are curious, take initiative and thrive being part of building something where not everything is fixed yet.
It is an advantage if you have experience with project coordination, event planning or voluntary work, e.g., activist, in youth movements, or in civil society.
Oxfam Denmark offers
We expect you to be able to be an intern at Oxfam Denmark on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) in the period 1 February – 31 June 2027. We are flexible in terms of adjusting the working hours to your studies and possibly a study job. Read more about requirements and conditions for being in internship at Oxfam Denmark under Internship at Oxfam Denmark.
You will gain a thorough insight into an organization that seeks to make the world a better place for the poorest and most marginalized people through advocacy and information work. You will become part of a dynamic, engaged and fun workplace in Copenhagen with great opportunities for professional development and networking with our other interns.
The address is Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, close to Ryparken station, where we live in a shared NGO house called ’VOX’.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer our interns a salary, and it is therefore a requirement that you receive SU. We offer you a free lunch scheme (predominantly vegetarian) and the opportunity to participate in various common activities in VOX.
Application etc.
Click the Apply button and send your application and CV to us as soon as possible and no later than 28 October 2026. We will conduct interviews in week 45.
For further information about the internship you are welcome to contact Ida Bjørn Jensen, Project & Policy Officer in the national program: [email protected], tel. +45 22404939.
