Neurology, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup seeks 1 introductory physician in neurology for employment starting 1 February 2027 .

Who are we?

At Regionshospitalet Gødstrup, the Neurology Department and the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department are combined into one department: Neurology, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

The department has 7-8 introductory positions and 6 main training positions per year in neurology. We also have doctors in the KBU programs, and doctors in side training for psychiatry.

In the department there are currently 6 consultant physicians and 7 ward physicians as well as 12-14 training physicians.

Neurology, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy is the region's western specialty department in neurology. The department consists of 22 beds distributed across a stroke bed ward with thrombolysis treatment and an integrated TCI day clinic, and a bed ward with classic neurology.

Furthermore, we have a large outpatient department with associated neurology clinics, as well as a day hospital and sub-acute outpatient clinic. There is a neurophysiology section associated. The department handles annually about 3,500 predominantly acute admissions as well as about 11,500 outpatient consultations.

On-call work

Our on-call team consists of 2 specialists and 2 junior doctors, who work closely together and where there is good supervision. With a focus on the importance of work-life balance, we schedule night shifts and weekend work in rotation, which lasts 12 weeks. This means that as a new employee here in the department you will already know your night shifts and weekends with work for a longer period from the start of employment.

There is always the possibility to swap roles with a colleague, so flexibility remains despite the structured planning.

Supervised outpatient clinic

Our training doctors are supervised by a specialist in the various subspecialties e.g. epilepsy, dementia, neuromuscular diseases and multiple sclerosis.

For each subspecialty there are 2-3 specialists attached, younger doctors in training, nurses and secretaries. In the introductory position you will circulate among the relevant teams according to your training plan.

Teaching and research . There are planned teaching sessions every morning, where junior doctors take turns presenting an article. The department has an attached research section where you can get help to start doing research.
