Introductory position in Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology and Hepatology, North Zealand Hospital – Frederikssund and Hillerød

The gastroenterology department at North Zealand Hospital offers 2 positions as introductory physician in internal medicine starting February 1, 2027.

The job After a thorough introduction in the department, you will have a personalized training plan prepared in accordance with the training program for introductory training in internal medicine with a particular focus on gastroenterology and hepatology. You will be placed as a mid-level resident.

The gastro-medicinal department is part of the Surgical Department and works closely with the Department of Thoracic and Infectious Medicine and the Department of Cardiology and Endocrinology at North Zealand Hospital.

On the Hillerød campus there are a total of 12 gastro-medicine beds and endoscopy

On the Frederikssund campus there is the outpatient clinic.

You will be introduced and trained in various roles at both campuses.

At Frederikssund you will have daytime duties in the outpatient clinic. In the outpatient clinic there are good opportunities for training and sparring with the department's specialists. We have IBD and liver tracks almost every day.

At Hillerød you will have daytime duties in both the gastroenterology inpatient ward and in the emergency department. In the inpatient ward it is primarily ward rounds.

On-call arrangements As an introductory doctor you will at Hillerød join the mid-shift team in a duty community with resident doctors from the other three medical departments. The shift is in two-hour blocks with duty at the service site all seven days of the week and consists of 8-9 shifts. There will be a thorough introduction to the on-call duties, and there will be training in the relevant specialties.

Research/Teaching There are opportunities to participate in research. There is teaching established at both Frederikssund and Hillerød. There is employed a UKYL, who coordinates the teaching itself.

The Department In the medical group we consist of 5 consultants and 4 specialists and 7 HU doctors as well as 2 introductory doctors.

The Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic has 10 weekly tracks with about 2500 IBD patients, about 1000 patients with hepatological diseases as well as patients with mixed gastroenterological conditions. The outpatient clinic has a nurse-led e-S health clinic and a cirrhosis clinic.

In the modernized endoscopy unit gastro-, sigmoidoscopy- and colonoscopy are performed, as well as prophylactic variceal banding, PEG tube placement. Capsule endoscopy is performed.

The inpatient ward at Hillerød consists of its own department with 12 medical beds.

Employment
