We are seeking a resident physician for clinical biochemistry medical work and research as of January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is a 12-month introductory medical internship (position no. 1301171-60-i-01). Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the collective agreement between Danish Regions and Young Doctors. The position includes an introduction to the specialty as well as training in research methods and research analyses.

The department's junior doctors participate in a shift arrangement with daytime presence and subsequently on-call duty until 20:00 from home all seven days of the week.

You will be offered medical specialization training in Clinical Biochemistry based on a defined research project. You will be introduced to the specialty of Clinical Biochemistry, where doctors, for example, provide guidance to clinical colleagues in the interpretation of analytical results and participate in interdisciplinary working groups on quality assurance of patient analyses and development work.

The department handles about 250,000 blood tests and performs over 7.5 million patient analyses per year, including highly specialized genetic analyses among others in oncology, cardiovascular and coagulation areas (see the department's previous annual reports here here )

Our department is one of the most research-active in the country (the research is described in the annual report). The research focuses on several main areas:

Genetic epidemiology in heart diseases, dementia, diabetes as well as lipoproteins; metabolism and cardiovascular biology; molecular neuro- and cardiovascular endocrinology, as well as genomic medicine and precision oncology.

The research methodologies range from molecular biology, cell and animal studies to studies of genes, blood samples and tissues from patients. The department's research is led by 10 professors and senior researchers and involves about 45 academics and bioanalysts.

We expect you to be engaged with a desire and ability to research and to immerse yourself in biomedical problems. In addition, there will be collaboration with many different staff groups.

You can read about the Clinical Biochemistry specialty and about the training to become a specialist in Clinical Biochemistry in
