Introductory positions in internal medicine at Svendborg Hospital

At the Medical Department M/FAM, OUH Svendborg Hospital there are 4 introductory positions available for occupancy as of March 1, 2027 – or by agreement.

The positions can be applied for by doctors who have completed internship or basic clinical training.

Employment in the positions can qualify for specialty training in all 9 internal medical specialties. There are approved training programs.

Medical Department M/FAM The Medical Department M/FAM is an internal medicine department, where the following specialties are represented: pulmonology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology/hepatology, endocrinology and cardiology. In addition we have a Diagnostic Center with evaluation of MUP (metastases with unknown primary) and MAS (suspected serious illness) for the entire Funen.

In the department we have specialists employed in all medical dual specialties. We have main training programs in 6 medical specialties.

The department is normed for 71 open beds, of which 18 beds are in FAM. There are about 6,400 admissions and 77,000 outpatient visits annually. FAM has about 33,600 patient contacts per year.

The department's medical staff today consists of 36 specialists and 55 trainee junior doctors.

All medical patients are admitted through the department's acute receiving unit. The department also receives patients over 65 years with hip fracture from all of Funen. After admission these patients are cared for in the Orthopaedic Department in collaboration with the Geriatric Department G.

Work organization You will participate together with the department's other doctors in ward rounds and outpatient work. During your introductory training you will participate in the medical on-call duty in FAM, where you – depending on your qualifications – will be part of the pre- or on-call shift. There is a joint on-call between the Medical and Geriatric Department on weekdays after 18:00, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 14:00.

Terms of appointment The positions are one-year. Employment is in accordance with the collective agreement between Young Doctors and the Danish Regions.

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension under agreement 33.06.1. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
