IT University seeks head of the education team

Are you a skilled communicator and an authentic leader who can involve, delegate, motivate and make decisions? You will play a central role in the development of ITU’s education area and administrative support during a period of extensive reforms.

About the position

Head of Education Team

You will become the people leader for 10 experienced staff members who work with

• education coordination, i.e. operations, educational development and leadership support to ITU’s education leaders (who are researchers/teachers).
• leadership support for the Education Director (equivalent to a Vice Dean for Education at other universities)
• administration of staffing processes and hires of Teaching Assistants.
• industry collaboration, which includes our IT Match Making event.

The main goals for the coming years

• implementation of the bachelor reform, which will bring more and new types of education, more flexibility for students, new forms of collaboration with industry, but also increased complexity in educational leadership and administration.
• development of processes, standards and increased digitisation with a user focus.

Your profile

• experience with people management, including setting direction, coordinating, involving, prioritising and engaging.
• solid experience with educational administration from a higher education institution and thriving in an administrative university context where political reforms must be translated into practice.
• you create involvement and knowledge sharing across disciplines and translate complex issues into clear decisions and actions.
• you can communicate clearly and empathetically and have good written communication skills in both Danish and English.
• you are systematic, structured and able to maintain calm and overview.
• a bachelor’s or master’s degree

Responsibilities

• Daily people management, with focus on direction, framework, sparring, feedback, well-being and development
• Ensure user-friendly and documented processes with focus on students, teachers and administration
• Manage and carry out the ongoing planning, coordination, prioritisation and development of tasks in your team
• Handling of hires, performance reviews and ongoing 1:1s
• Lead and execute cross-cutting tasks and projects in the department and the broader organisation

The Department

You report directly to the Head of Studies, who is part of the University Management. We are expanding from 3 to 5 people leaders to ensure professional and close leadership. Your leadership colleagues are head of 1) Examinations, case processing, LifeLongLearning, exchanges, etc.; 2) Student Guidance and Study Support; 3) Learning Unit, Quality and PhD; and 4) Digitisation, Admissions and Study Communication (also a new position).

Together with the Head of Studies, the five people leaders form the department's leadership team, with daily close collaboration, ongoing sparring and focus on leadership development.

We lead through trust, involvement and professional sparring. We expect you can create clear direction while giving employees responsibility and freedom to solve tasks.

In the department (Student Affairs and Programmes) we are approx. 50 engaged staff members who support the university’s leadership, education, students and teachers. IT University is in ongoing development, so roles and tasks continually change. Our students and teachers come from all over the world, and much of the daily communication is therefore in English.

Conditions of employment

You are hired as a senior consultant with people management in accordance with the state collective agreement. The appointment is made under the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the relevant organisation.

There will be the possibility to negotiate individual supplements depending on your qualifications.

The position is desired to be filled no later than 1 January 2026.
