About the job

Would you like to try your hand at a variety of tasks in a staff office that helps support the work of the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare? Then you might be the student assistant we are seeking for our department!

About us

In the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare, we are in the process of getting a new ministry up and running. The Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare is responsible for the extensive reorganization of agricultural land into nature and forest, the improvement of the Danish water environment, supporting a sustainable agricultural and food production and ensuring animal welfare. The ministry is undergoing a fundamental restructuring of our agriculture and nature so that we can secure a greener Denmark – not least for future generations.

We are currently around 190 employees in the department, centrally located in Copenhagen close to Christiansborg as well as public transport. Including the two agencies attached to the Ministry, we are about 2,700 employees working together across the country.

In Corporate Management and Corporate Economics, where we are seeking a new student assistant, we handle a wide range of staff functions for the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare's department. We consist of about 25 employees, distributed across four teams, working with everything from economics and the Finance Act to audits, security and building operation. In addition, we are responsible for the internal service function for the entire department. You will, in other words, come to work directly in the engine room that solves a broad range of tasks to make a department function.

What will you be working with?

As a student with us you will have an exciting and varied everyday life, where you will achieve a fixed task portfolio across the office. In addition, you will primarily be attached to one of the office's teams, where you will be assigned a primary contact person, but you will be able to receive tasks from the entire office. You will, among other things, assist with:

  • Quality assurance of our journal instruction with ongoing checks of the department's journaling practices.
  • Support-related tasks for the department's ESDH system F2, e.g., development of user guides for the system.
  • Data extraction and analyses in Excel, e.g., monthly overviews of the department's journaling practices.
  • Ongoing orders internally in the department and to the department's agencies.
  • Maintenance of the intranet.
  • Coordination and follow-up on orders and deadlines.
  • Creation of cases.
  • Maintenance and development of workflows and process descriptions.
  • Backups of managers' phones.
  • Ad hoc tasks in information security and emergency preparedness.
  • Registration of contracts and updating of contract overview.

About you

We expect you to be an ambitious student with an interest in public administration and governance. You are a student in a relevant social science education, e.g., cand.scient.pol., cand.polit., stud.merc.(pol.) or similar. We imagine you have at least 2 years left of your education.

We expect you to be responsible, have strong analytical abilities and the willingness to dive into all kinds of tasks. In addition, you are good at keeping an overview and thrive when working with many diverse tasks. We also welcome flexibility from you, just as we naturally also accommodate flexibility regarding your studies.

We do not expect you to have any special knowledge of the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare or our professional areas. The most important is that you have drive and are interested in learning what it is like to work in a department.

Your salary and employment terms

Employment is carried out in accordance with the current Common Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations, The Public Sector, and associated organizational agreements for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT workers (HK).

The employing area is the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare with its affiliated institutions. The workplace is the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare's department, Holmens Kanal 22, 1060 Copenhagen K.

The position is 15 hours (average) per week. We take into account that you need to study; during exam periods where study requires more of your time, there is flexibility.

It is a condition of employment that you are academically active during your entire employment and can present a student ID during the period.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
