About the job
Do you want to use your legal expertise for something that can be felt in the landscape? And are you motivated by finding solutions at the intersection of law, nature, climate and regulatory work? Then we have an exciting job for you in the Nature Agency (Naturstyrelsen).
We are looking for a lawyer for the Nature Agency's Authority Team, who wants a job in a strong professional team where we work on translating complex legislation into practical solutions and to be a strong professional sparring partner for colleagues who work with Nature Agency's project portfolio across the country, including for example the realisation of the Green Tripartite. The Authority Team is one of two teams in the Nature Projects Unit.
Become part of the Nature Projects Unit
You will become part of a unit at Nature Agency's headquarters in the scenic Randbøl between Vejle and Billund. The unit is responsible for portfolio management of low-lying and wetland projects. The projects are carried out on private land in close cooperation with Nature Agency's 16 local units.
We are a relatively new unit, distributed across two teams with different professional backgrounds, including lawyers, economists and agricultural specialists.
The Authority Team supports the local units nationwide with guidelines, guidance, coordination and advice on principled questions across the Nature Agency's entire portfolio of projects. At the same time, we play an active role in regulatory work, planning and collaboration with other ministries and a wide range of public and private actors in green spatial planning.
What are your tasks?
As a lawyer in the Authority Team, you will be a central professional sparring partner for local project managers and staff. Your tasks and responsibilities will be arranged according to experience, but whatever your background you will work with the law in a broad sense, including:
- Advice to Nature Agency's local units and headquarters within relevant legislation.
- Advise project managers and staff on regulatory applications and contribute to a high professional level and a consistent approach to regulatory work across projects.
- Teach and develop the competencies of project managers and staff in, among other things, regulatory applications and relevant legislation.
- Clarify professional and principled questions about regulatory work both internally and in collaboration with other public authorities.
- Contribute to the continued development of regulatory work in the project organisation.
In other words, you will be a professional beacon that colleagues can turn to when a regulatory application must be handled, a complicated legal issue must be clarified, or when a solution is needed that is both legally sound and works in practice.
Who are you?
You have a cand.jur. degree, and preferably experience with nature and environmental law from previous positions or studies. You know how to work in a politically governed organisation and can convey complex material in a way that makes it understandable and usable for others.
We emphasise that you
- have strong written and oral communication skills.
- have knowledge of workflows and tasks in a public authority, as well as an interest in the political agenda.
- are well-structured, can drive tasks with varying complexity and maintain an overview in a fast-changing workday – you take responsibility and follow up on clarifications to the end.
- are a good colleague, collaborative, positive and proactive – even when colleagues are located elsewhere in the country.
- have experience with or a desire to teach and develop colleagues.
- are engaged, curious and flexible in your problem solving.
A job with professional depth, responsibility and societal impact
At the Nature Agency you become part of a nationwide state agency that works to manage Denmark's natural heritage, counteract climate change and improve the water environment.
We work every day to be an attractive partner and a professional beacon for the organisation. You will play an important role in developing that.
We offer
- An exciting job where your legal skills contribute to solving a societally important task.
- Good opportunities to develop your professional potential and your personal competencies.
- Skilled colleagues with many different professional backgrounds and broad collaboration on task solving.
- A workplace that combines high professionalism with humour, a flat structure and room for a smile.
At the Nature Agency's headquarters in Randbøl we are about 150 employees. Here you will find, among other things, a staff canteen, and ongoing social and professional activities across the organisation.
Salary and employment terms
Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organisations for academics in the state (Academics’ Agreement).
Depending on your experience and competencies, there may be a possibility of employment as a senior consultant or chief consultant.
Employment is on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.
The area of employment is the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare with related institutions. The place of work is the Nature Agency, Førstballevej 2, 7183 Randbøl.
