About the job

We are growing in all units at Syrenparken – and you will have the opportunity to influence both your professional development and your work life

Do you want to make a difference for people with complex psychiatric issues? Are you passionate about rehabilitation, activity and participation in everyday life? And do you want to be part of a multidisciplinary community where we jointly develop our professional practice?

At Syrenparken we are growing, and we are looking for an occupational therapist who will contribute with their professional expertise and help create a meaningful daily life for our residents.

At the same time, from week 2 we are introducing a new work schedule, where you will have the opportunity to choose between different shift patterns and weekend rotations. We want to create greater flexibility and a better balance between work life and leisure.

The work schedules are planned in dialogue with the employees and with regard to individual wishes, residents' needs and overall operations.

Who are you?

You are engaged, curious and motivated to work in a multidisciplinary team where the resident is at the center. You contribute with your occupational therapy expertise and practical experience to the development of individual rehabilitation efforts.

As an occupational therapist at Syrenparken you will work, among other things, with sensor profiles, assessing residents' needs for assistive devices and evaluating their opportunities to participate in daily activities.

You are observant and professionally reflective and can assess whether an intervention and the support we offer is appropriate. You have an eye for the resident's resources and needs and can identify when there is a need for preventive, compensatory or calming measures.

You see the value in being present in different parts of residents' everyday lives and in collaborating with colleagues to create coherence and continuity in the efforts.

Who are we?

Social Center Lillebælt, Syrenparken department, is located in Børkop close to the train station. We are a highly specialized regional residential facility for 46 residents with psychiatric vulnerabilities.

We consist of three units, each with its own professional specialization

Unit 1 – rehabilitation and participation

Here we focus on development and active participation in social life. We work, among other things, with dialectical behavior therapy and a trauma-informed approach.

Unit 2 – rehabilitation and stabilization

Here we focus on arousal regulation, conflict management and cognitive therapy to support residents' well-being and mastery.

Unit 3 – rehabilitation, structure and systematics

Here we work with structure, systematics and neuro-pedagogical approaches that take as their starting point the individual resident's prerequisites and needs.

Our common vision is

“We succeed when the resident feels valuable in a meaningful everyday life through hope, mastery and care.”

We want to create a daily life where residents are met with respect, professionalism and care, and where we as employees take joint responsibility for the quality of our efforts.

Professional methods and approaches

We work with a rehabilitative aim, where LA2 and a cognitive approach form the foundation of our professional work.

We are preoccupied with how we can through structure, relationships, activities and individually tailored interventions support residents' mastery and quality of life.

As an occupational therapist you will have the opportunity to bring your professional expertise into play across the multidisciplinary collaboration and contribute to ensuring that residents' resources, sensory needs and opportunities for participation are considered in the overall effort.

We invest in your professional and personal development

You will receive an individual introductory program and the opportunity for professional development based on your level of experience and our joint competency development plan.

We offer, among other things

  • LA2 course within the first two years of employment.
  • Foundational cognitive course within the first two years of employment.
  • Team development and professional sparring.
  • Individual education plan after two years based on our competency development plan.
  • Mentor arrangement and thorough introduction to the specialty.
  • Regular supervision, unit meetings, team meetings and daily reflection.
  • Quarterly dialogue meetings between the department leadership team and employees.

We prioritize a professional environment where we share knowledge, reflect on our practice and learn together. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of both the occupational therapy effort and our shared professional direction.

A new work plan – with influence on your working life

From week 2 we will introduce a new work plan to give employees greater opportunity to influence the planning of their working hours.

You will have the opportunity to request between

  • Clean day shifts.
  • Clean evening shifts.
  • Mixed day and evening shifts.
  • 12-hour shifts.
  • Weekend shift every other weekend or every fourth weekend.

We want to create a better balance between work life and leisure and at the same time ensure a work plan that supports residents' needs and our shared task.

Your wishes are included in the dialogue about the work plan. The final planning takes into account your wishes, residents' needs and overall operations.

We offer

  • A meaningful job at a residential facility in professional development and growth.
  • Opportunity to influence the development of both the occupational therapy contribution and our shared professional practice.
  • A strong multidisciplinary environment with dedicated colleagues.
  • Mentor arrangement and thorough introduction to the specialty.
  • Regular supervision, unit and team meetings and daily reflection.
  • Quarterly dialogue meetings between the department leadership team and employees.
  • Opportunity to choose between different shift patterns and weekend rotations as part of the new work plan from week 2.
