About the job

Do you want to become an important adult in the students' school life? At Kliplev School we are looking for a teacher who wants to teach, build relationships and be part of a close and engaged community around our students. Maybe it's you we are missing on the team?

Kliplev Skole – a school close to the students

At Kliplev School we are a small school with about 140 students from 0th to 6th grade, where closeness, community and good relationships are an important part of our everyday life. We know each other across classes and year groups, and we emphasize that both children and adults feel they belong.

We work every day to create a school where the students thrive and develop academically. We believe that good relationships, clear adults and a strong collaboration around the students are the foundation for good teaching and learning.

As a teacher at Kliplev School you will become part of a committed staff where we help each other, share ideas and take on tasks together. You get a daily life close to the students and the opportunity to put your own mark on the teaching and the school's development.

We are a school where there is not far from idea to action, and where we value employees who want to contribute, take responsibility and be part of the community.

About the job

You will become part of our lower primary and middle-year team and take a central role in the students' academic and social development.

Your main tasks will be

  • mathematics teaching in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade
  • English teaching in 3rd grade
  • class teacher in 4th grade.

As a class teacher in 4th grade you will have a special role in relation to the class's community, well-being and development. You will work closely with the other teachers and pedagogical staff around the students' daily life and learning.

In mathematics you will have the opportunity to follow the students' academic development across several year groups. This provides good opportunities to create coherence in teaching while staying close to the students over time.

Your day-to-day life will be characterized by close collaboration with colleagues, both in relation to year groups but also in professional collaboration and around the individual student. We emphasize that we use each other’s competencies and help each other find good solutions when daily life requires it.

Of course you will also have the opportunity to shape your own approach to teaching. We expect you to take responsibility for your tasks, but you will not be alone with them.

Your tasks

Your primary tasks will consist of

  • planning and delivering inspiring mathematics teaching in 3rd-6th grade
  • taking care of English teaching in 3rd grade
  • being a class teacher in 4th grade and having a close eye on the students' well-being, development and sense of belonging
  • creating good relationships with the students and supporting a safe and positive learning environment
  • actively participating in team cooperation and the cross-professional collaboration around the students
  • participating in the school's joint development and contributing with your own ideas, professionalism and engagement.

We offer

  • a school where you come close to both students, colleagues and the school's daily life
  • a workplace with a strong community where we help each other and lift tasks together
  • an opportunity to put your own mark on the teaching and help develop the school
  • a varied teaching role with both academic responsibility and an important role around the class community
  • good opportunities to follow the students' development closely and create relationships that make a difference
  • engaged colleagues and a school day where there is little distance from idea to action.

We expect you to

  • Have teacher training and strong subject competencies in mathematics
  • Be able to create clear, varied and engaging teaching where students experience both academic progress and a desire to learn
  • Be strong in relationships and meet the students with clarity, presence and respect
  • Have a desire to take responsibility for the class's community and the students' well-being as class teacher
  • Be able to collaborate closely and constructively with colleagues and parents
  • Be engaged, responsible and actively contribute to the school's community.

It is an advantage if you

  • have experience with mathematics teaching at the middle grades
  • have experience with the class teacher role
  • have interest in or experience with teaching English
  • want to work at a smaller school where people know each other and carry tasks out collectively
  • are willing to try new ideas and develop your teaching together with your colleagues.
