CONTACT PERSON FOR ELDERLY WOMAN WITH REDUCED VISION AND HEARING – Juelsminde

Are you looking for a smaller, but meaningful job, where your contribution has a big impact in another person's daily life? Then this position may be something for you.

On behalf of Hedensted Municipality CFD Rådgivning is seeking a contact person for an elderly woman with combined vision and hearing loss. You communicate with her using loud, direct and clear speech.

The woman sits in a wheelchair and lives in a nursing home in Juelsminde, where she appreciates daily life and the activities the place offers. She also enjoys going on short trips, for example small shopping trips to the shops in Juelsminde. The woman is friendly and welcoming and is grateful for the help a contact person can offer.

The working hours are two hours once a week. The hours can be scheduled either in the morning or afternoon by agreement.

In addition, 50 extra hours are approved annually for accompaniment in connection with, for example, doctor visits, excursions, social events and the like.

Opgaver

Your tasks will include, among other things, to accompany and describe the surroundings where you move, as well as support with communication as needed.

These may include

• tours in the wheelchair in the local area
• grocery shopping in the local area
• bingo at the nursing home
• social events, for example at the nursing home.

There may also be accompaniment outside the home for other arrangements.

In addition there may be a need for help to start audiobooks on a NOTA player as well as occasional help with painting nails.

We imagine that you

• are a calm and positive person with balance in your own life
• speak clearly and distinctly
• are physically able to push a wheelchair
• are keen to make a difference for another person.

Oplæring og støtte

Before you begin the job, you must complete an e-learning course of about 2.5 hours, which provides an introduction to the work as a contact person. The training is conducted at your home on your own computer, and you will be paid for your time.

The training also takes place in interaction with the citizen themselves, as well as through instruction and teaching from CFD’s deaf-blind consultants. As a contact person you will be regularly invited to course days and supervision together with other contact persons – this is also paid.

This is hourly paid work. The detailed terms of employment are agreed with Hedensted Municipality, which is the employing authority.
