About the boy

In Herlev lives a happy, loving and active 6-year-old boy together with his family. He has infantile autism and delayed psychomotor development. He communicates nonverbally and expresses himself via pictograms or by physically guiding someone to what he wants. He also communicates with sounds that express whether he is happy, angry or sad.

The boy enjoys being outdoors in all kinds of weather. He loves cycling on his tricycle, taking a walk on the playground or at the Experimentarium, where the family has an annual pass. Playing with cars and drawing are also a hit with the boy. He is good at inviting others to play, such as for example tag.

About the task

The boy has a high activity level and gets easily distracted. He needs close adult support during transitions, emotional regulation and to carry out several daily activities. He also needs support in social situations where he can be overwhelmed by many people and sensory impressions. He needs clear and predictable frames and benefits from repetitions, breaks and visual supports such as pictograms. The boy may need support with toilet visits.

Working hours

The position is up to 10 hours per month. The family wishes the hours to be on weekends by agreement, where you can relax at home, take a trip to the playground, the library or the Experimentarium, etc.

About you

You are playful and engaged and enjoy doing activities with the boy

You can stay calm, even if the boy becomes frustrated or has a difficult day.

You can create structure and predictability, but at the same time be flexible according to the boy's needs.

You are calm, patient, caring and good at creating safe surroundings and a good relationship with the boy.

You are comfortable helping with toilet visits and handling any accidents

You may be a trained educator or have other relevant experience.

There is an opportunity to be paid as an educator or according to other relevant experience.
