Physician in a one-year unclassified position for the Emergency Department at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital

Do you want to help shape the framework for an evolving emergency department?

We are seeking a physician for a one-year unclassified position with start on December 1, 2026. The position gives you the opportunity to work with concrete development tasks and follow projects from idea and drafting to implementation in the clinical everyday life.

We will be hosting introductory doctors in the acute medicine training program and specialist trainees in acute medicine. At the same time, we are developing the organization of the acute medical work in our Emergency Department. We are therefore looking for younger doctors who want to help establish instructional materials, introductory programs and other practical frameworks.

Your tasks

You will work closely with the department's chief physician, who also serves as the training supervisor. You will receive expert guidance and ongoing sparring, while also having the opportunity to work independently on defined tasks and projects.

The tasks will include, among other things, to

• Contribute to drafting and revising clinical instructions and descriptions of workflows.
• Develop introductory programs and practical materials for new doctors.
• Help develop training programs and teaching materials.
• Carry out concrete development projects in collaboration with the department's doctors, nurses and other partners.
• Support implementation and follow-up on how materials and workflows function in practice.

We plan the tasks together with you based on the department's needs and your experiences and interests.

We imagine that you

• Are a physician with an interest in acute medicine, education and development.
• Have completed an introductory position in acute medicine or another specialty with touchpoints to acute patient care, for example an internal medicine specialty.
• Are interested in working with both written and practical development tasks.
• Work in a structured and independent way and use guidance and sparring along the way.
• Are curious, take initiative and collaborate well across professional groups

Your upcoming department

The Emergency Department at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital handles just over 150,000 contacts annually and has more than 400 employees. We are housed in the New Hospital Herlev and receive patients with a broad spectrum of medical and surgical problems.

We are in the process of developing a hybrid model where acute medicine’s broad clinical competencies are combined with the knowledge of the specialty departments. You will become part of this development and gain insight into how clinic, education and organization are interlinked.

Terms of employment and application process

The position is a one-year unclassified physician position with start on December 1, 2026. The main task is development work. Participation in on-call duties will be arranged further based on your competencies and the department's needs.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement for junior doctors (33.06.1) between the Regional Salary and Tariff Board and Young Doctors with placement as physician (step 1).
