The Cardiovascular, Thoracic and Vascular Surgical Department at AUH is seeking medical secretaries/health administrative coordinators with a start date of February 1, 2027, or by arrangement. You will become an important part of planning, coordination and follow-up on patient pathways. We offer a varied daily life with influence on workflows, good opportunities for professional development and flexibility in everyday life, as long as the work allows.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • coordination and overview of patient pathways
  • daily patient contact and clinic operations
  • documentation and quality of registration
  • preparation and follow-up on patient pathways
  • flexible task execution and cross-department collaboration within the department
  • triage and surgery booking
  • handling of notes.

The team

You will become part of an integrated secretary group of about 10 colleagues distributed across the Cardiovascular, Pulmonary and Vascular Surgery Department.

Work takes place in close collaboration with doctors, nurses and other professional groups. We place emphasis on strong interdisciplinary collaboration, where we meet each other at eye level and help with various ad hoc tasks in daily life.

What we can offer you

With us you will become part of a department where we lift together and meet each other with respect. You will have a varied daily life with the opportunity to influence workflows and help develop how we work. We believe in freedom with responsibility and give room for initiative and new ideas. At the same time you will have good opportunities for professional development; we support learning and are happy to accommodate interests and initiatives for skills development.

Qualifications

It is a requirement that you

  • are educated medical secretary or health administrative coordinator with knowledge of MidtEPJ
  • are willing to participate in daily operations – including on-call duties
  • work in a structured way and can maintain an overview in a busy daily life
  • We have a high activity level and complex patient pathways, and therefore we need a colleague who can actively engage in the tasks from the start and help ensure a stable and well-functioning daily life.

Personal competencies

To thrive and succeed with us, it is important that you

  • are service-minded and meet both patients and colleagues with a welcoming approach
  • take responsibility and follow through on your tasks
  • can remain calm and maintain an overview, even when many tasks are underway
  • contribute to the community and have a natural desire to help your colleagues when needed
  • have a positive mindset and a good mood that is contagious in daily life.

We are a department where we lift together, and where it is important that you can take responsibility for your own tasks and at the same time be ready to help where the need arises.

The on-call duty consists of

  • Saturday shifts, which can vary from once a month to once every other month (08:00–15:00) with Friday off afterwards.
  • Holiday shifts (about 2-4 per year).

The on-call duties may be performed from home.
