About the job

Teacher with teaching competence in mathematics for the special classes AK/Skoven, Skørping School

Would you like to make going to school fun, then we are looking for a full-time teacher from 1 November 2026 (or preferably earlier) for the AK-class/Skoven special provision.

Skørping School has three streams with about 600 students across grades 0-9 and the special classes AK-class and Skoven with about 150 students and 70 teachers and educators.

AK-class/AK-Skoven is a special division for normally gifted children with special needs distributed in 5 departments - three physically on the school and two about 1-5 km from the school.

The advertised position is at Skørping School in the AK-class’s middle school department.

We are currently seeking a teacher with teaching competence in mathematics to teach the middle school. In addition, we are very interested in who you are and how well you fit into your team, as team collaboration is a key fundamental component of our work.

AK-class is aimed at normally gifted children with difficulties in relation to behaviour and/or contact, where the students often have various diagnoses such as autism, anxiety, ADHD, etc., while the target group in Skoven is children who require a highly sheltered offer.

Work in AK-class/Skoven is based on the idea that it should be fun to go to school. Many of the children have had a difficult and defeatist school career, which we try to reverse through motivating teaching environments carried by engaged staff and innovative/creative pedagogical approaches. We work with a neurosequential pedagogical approach, as well as low arousal.

In addition, we always have various ongoing initiatives to ensure that we challenge our children and young people to develop their full potential, just as many of the children have such complex issues that they challenge your creativity in terms of rethinking pedagogical approaches. The staff work in self-managing teams, offering good opportunities to influence your daily life.

Moreover we offer

  • the opportunity to share both everyday life and experiences with our fantastic children
  • a workplace where two days are never the same
  • good provisions for preparation and home study, which we consider essential for delivering a high professional quality
  • opportunity to shape our offerings with what you are passionate about
  • a workplace with high ceilings, long spaces between walls, and room for diversity
  • a positive and informal work environment characterized by engaged colleagues with whom you will consult regarding task solving, as well as ongoing supervision
  • a large special provision, meaning you will have about 70 colleagues to consult with and participate in cross-cutting activities
  • good facilities to create learning and development both indoors and outdoors.

We hope that you

  • are passionate about creating creative learning and teaching situations that challenge and motivate children
  • can think creatively when the children’s difficulties cannot be solved solely with visual structure and predictability
  • would like to participate in some of our many special educational activities that include all forms of movement and exercise, outdoor life, creative activities indoors and outdoors, football school, etc.
  • can be an asset in a cross-disciplinary team consisting of teachers and educators in a joint equal responsibility for task solving
  • are robust and can see the children’s potentials and invitations behind inappropriate behavior
  • can engage in a low-arousal pedagogy, where we work with the children through relationship-building and positive atmospheres rather than rewards and punishment
  • have visions and ideas to support our ongoing development of the offering
  • see yourself as an important part of solving the pedagogical task and thus also focus on continuously reflecting on your own pedagogical practice and acquiring new competencies in collaboration with your colleagues.

For questions, please contact coordinator Heidi Hansen at telephone 30 10 57 88 or middle manager Jannie Bonde at telephone 22 60 72 54.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with current collective agreement.
