One of our colleagues has taken a new job, and we are therefore looking for a skilled and engaged teacher for the students in the Focus Classes.

About the school

Mellervangskolen is a public school in eastern Aalborg with 440 students and 100 staff. As a general school, we are two-teacher from 0-9 grade with an accompanying DUS offer for students from 0-3 grade. In addition, Mellervangskolen also houses DELTA-classes for years in the Older department. The Focus Classes at Mellervangskolen are one of Aalborg municipality's special education offerings for students who by PPR have been assessed to have a special pedagogical need, and who currently do not thrive and develop within the framework of the general school. We currently have about 100 students from 0-10 grade.

All teams, both in general and focus, work with a uniform approach regarding the implementation of DELTA-inspired learning environments and the use of visual structures throughout Mellervangskolen. The implementation of DELTA-inspired learning environments stems from the school's strategic plan.

The school is department-divided, and there is a high degree of self-management and responsibility in a committed collaboration within the team. At Mellervangskolen there is a duty to collaborate. It is therefore important that you are a team player and together with the team create a safe, structured and predictable everyday life with the children at the center.

At Mellervangskolen we have defined our common core task and it is the starting point for our priorities and our focus in pedagogical practice. The core task is: “At Mellervangskolen we create development opportunities that promote wellbeing and learning in wonderful, committed communities with participation opportunities for all and with room for flexible solutions.” It is therefore central that you can see yourself in this formulation.

About the position

We expect that you are a trained teacher with major subjects in Physics/Chemistry . In addition it is advantageous if you have experience in, and competence to teach in one or more of these subjects: mathematics, German and Design and Crafts . Generally it is expected that you can and will teach a broad range of subjects in collaboration with your colleagues.

It is not a prerequisite, but it is highly valued that you have special educational knowledge and experience with teaching within the special education field.

• Engage in close collaboration with parents and fellow team members.
• Participate in other team configurations when required.
• Work concretely and systematically with interventions at individual and community levels.
• Meet all students with relevant pedagogy and didactics.
• Work independently and in a team and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with PPR and others.
• Put your professional knowledge to use in subject teams and at learning conferences.
• Navigate a sometimes unpredictable everyday life with a focus on creating the best conditions and terms for children with special needs, within the framework provided.

Salary and terms of employment: The position is a permanent full-time employment according to the applicable collective agreement.

Start as soon as possible or by agreement, taking into account the applicant's current employment.
