About the job

Would you like to help shape development in the open countryside and find good solutions at the intersection of legislation, landscape, development and citizen dialogue?

We are seeking a land-use zoning caseworker for Building and Landzone, as our current landzone caseworker is retiring after many years in the position.

There will be an opportunity for up to three months of overlap, so you get a good introduction to the tasks, the possibility for thorough handover of cases and access to the valuable knowledge and experience that has been built up over many years.

The start date is January 4, 2027.

Landzone and building cases are closely linked for us

In Building and Landzone, building case processing and landzone administration are consolidated in a department. This provides good opportunities for professional sparring and to see the cases in a coherent context.

Many projects in the open countryside require both planning and construction expert assessments. This includes new housing, business, energy facilities, conversion of existing buildings and development projects in the villages. Therefore, we work closely together on these tasks and help each other find the best solutions within the framework of the law.

You will become part of a professional environment where there is a short path to sparring, and where we place emphasis on collaboration, professional quality and a pragmatic approach to tasks.

About the job

You will be responsible for your own case portfolio and, as a rule, follow cases from the initial dialogues with the applicant to the final decision.

An important part of the job is the dialogue with citizens, companies, advisers and other authorities. You must be able to advise on rules, possibilities and processes and contribute to creating good and understandable case processes.

You will work closely with colleagues within planning, building, roads and traffic, nature, environment and development, and you will continually contribute with professional assessments in cross-cutting collaboration on authority cases.

Some of the cases may also be part of political decision-making processes, where you must contribute with professional assessments and material for the political handling.

Your tasks

Your tasks will include among other things to

  • process applications for land zone approvals under the Planning Act
  • carry out planning-related, landscape assessments of projects in the open countryside
  • advise citizens, companies and advisers about possibilities and limitations in the land zone
  • coordinate cases across planning, building, nature, roads and traffic and environmental areas
  • handle legalization and appeal cases
  • administer cases concerning, among other things, building and protection lines, cases covered by protections
  • draft decisions, notes and case submissions for administrative and political processing
  • contribute to municipal planning, local planning and other development tasks where landzone considerations are involved.

About you

We are looking for an employee with experience within the Planning Act area and preferably with knowledge of landzone administration.

Professional qualifications

About you

  • have a relevant education such as engineer, architect, building constructor, land surveyor, planner, or similar
  • have experience with authority processing and preferably the Planning Act
  • can make independent professional and legal assessments
  • can translate legislation and practice into clear and well-founded decisions
  • thrive on dialogue and can create constructive solutions in collaboration with citizens and advisers
  • communicate clearly and precisely both orally and in writing
  • work structured and take responsibility for your tasks
  • actively contribute to professional sparring and knowledge sharing.

If you already have experience with landzone administration or provisions of the Planning Act, that is naturally an advantage. But we also see great potential in candidates who bring new perspectives and want to develop together with us.

What you get with us

With us you get a high degree of professional independence, but you are not alone with the tasks. We emphasize continuous sparring, knowledge sharing and a daily life where there is short distance to colleagues, management and decisions.

We offer among other things

  • opportunity for a thorough handover and introduction to the tasks through overlap with the current landzone caseworker
  • a strong professional environment with both landzone, building and planning competences
  • good opportunities for professional development and skills building
  • close collaboration with colleagues within planning, building, nature, roads and traffic, environment and development
  • flexitime and the option for remote work

We have an informal tone and short distances between employees and management. At the same time you have good opportunities to influence both daily task solving and the development of our working procedures.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a full-time role of 37 hours per week.

The appointment is made in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and your qualifications.
