About the job

The Case and Visitation Center, North Zealand Police, is seeking a lawyer with in-depth knowledge of criminal case handling, who wishes to work with the police on the quality of criminal cases.

The position as a lawyer is located at the Case and Visitation Center in Hillerød.

Responsibilities

As a lawyer in the department you will primarily ensure the correct quality in the diverse, less complicated cases handled at the SVC.

Specifically, your day-to-day will be very varied, and a suitable candidate will have a great influence on the content of the position, as this is a newly created role. You will, among other things:

  • decide on smaller cases within the police's competence and prepare drafts for closing letters in other cases
  • quality-check criminal cases before forwarding to the prosecution service
  • perform self-checks of the police's decisions and identify relevant development areas
  • monitor the department's case portfolio and thereby identify particularly urgent and prioritized cases
  • provide legal sparring to police subject specialists
  • and much more.

In addition we imagine you may work with

  • to initiate more general initiatives that can help ensure the right quality in criminal cases
  • to educate and teach colleagues in the department and other departments
  • to be a bridge between the department and the prosecution service in daily cooperation
  • to represent the department in cross-cutting fora – both within the district and nationwide.

About you

You are a trained jurist (cand.jur.). It would be an advantage if you have completed the Public Prosecutor's basic training, but not a requirement.

Furthermore we imagine that you

  • have a high professional level, good drafting skills and can translate professional knowledge into results
  • have focus on ensuring the right quality in cases while being able to ensure prioritization and progress in task solving so that results are created in a busy everyday life
  • have impact, are approachable and communicate clearly
  • can collaborate and build relationships at all levels and across disciplines.

Salary and terms of employment

As a rule you will be classified as an administrative officer with a personal allowance according to the collective agreement for academics in the state. If you have completed the Public Prosecution's basic training, you will be rewarded with an allowance that applies to the Ministry of Justice area according to the Academic Agreement's annex regarding the overview of allowances and special provisions (basic training allowance). Placement and any other allowances are negotiated through the union representative.

Depending on experience and competences you may be placed as a senior consultant under the academic agreement's annex on protocol on special consultants and chief consultants under the new pay system. Placement and any other allowances are negotiated individually.

If you are employed with the Ministry of Justice as the area of employment, you keep the broad area of employment.

You must be security cleared to Top Secret. Employment in the police and the public prosecution service is conditional on maintaining the necessary security clearance at all times.

Your workplace will be North Zealand Police, Case and Visitation Center at Station Midt located at Østergade 1, 3400 Hillerød.
