About the job

Do you want to work with applied research close to industry and at the same time help educate the next generation of production technologists? At Copenhagen Business Academy (EK) we are seeking an adjunct for a fixed-term position of one year, where you combine research and development with teaching on the Production Technology program.

About the position

EK strengthens practice-oriented research within production technology, and we therefore seek an adjunct who can drive and contribute to research and development projects in collaboration with companies and research partners. The position is linked to an upcoming research project led by EK Research, and about 30% of your working time is allocated to research and development. The rest of the time you will teach.

The research and teaching fall within one or more of these areas

  • Product development: materials, manufacturing methods and sustainable design principles, including design for manufacturing and repair.
  • Engineering: CAD, tolerances, statics and strength theory as well as FEA analyses and simulations based on CAD models.
  • Production planning: production optimization, maintenance and inventory management, e.g. with a focus on digitization and data use.

Your tasks

Within research and development you should

  • plan and carry out applied research and development projects
  • collect, analyze and document data and results
  • disseminate the results in, for example, articles, reports, conference papers and to industry
  • contribute to applications for external funding and to the development of new projects and partnerships

Within teaching you should

  • teach on full-time and part-time programs
  • actively use your research in teaching and involve students in the projects where it makes sense

About you

You have a relevant technical background such as production or mechanical engineering or production technology with an additional qualification. You also have experience with research or systematic development work, e.g. from a PhD, a position as a research assistant or development projects in industry. A PhD is an advantage, but not a requirement.

In addition you can

  • work methodically and analytically and communicate results in writing and orally
  • translate research knowledge into practice-oriented teaching
  • engage and motivate students
  • work both independently and in teams with colleagues, companies and research partners

Why choose EK

At EK you will become part of a professionally strong and informal environment where research, teaching and business collaboration go hand in hand. We offer:

  • an engaged team and a research environment with close contact to industry
  • opportunity to participate in conferences and build your professional network
  • a flexible workplace with a focus on balance between work and private life

You will become part of Technology & Environment with about 50 colleagues across 8 programs. The Production Technology team currently comprises five instructors. We are based at Lygten 16 in Copenhagen NV, close to both S-train and metro.

Temporary appointment as adjunct

The position is a minimum of 30 hours per week and fixed-term for one year from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027. You are employed in a temporary appointment as adjunct in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and job structure for business academies, etc.

Application

Send your application, CV, degree certificates and any publication list no later than 16 November 2026. We will invite for interviews on an ongoing basis.

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact the Head of Education Marie Høegsberg-Halvorsen at [email protected] or +45 41 33 27 11.
