Chief Medical Educator and Consultant for the Department of Medical Diseases

Department of Medical Diseases at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital seeks a senior consultant who will lead the overall coordination and development of medical postgraduate training in our four specialties: geriatrics, endocrinology, respiratory medicine and infectious diseases.

A central role in education and leadership

You will be responsible for creating coherence and a common direction for the educational effort in close collaboration with the department’s educationally responsible senior consultants, the chief consultants and the department management.

You must have both a view to strategic development and to how education, supervision and clinical practice fit together in daily work.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Coordinate and develop medical postgraduate education across the department’s four specialties and two sites.
• Support collaboration between the educationally responsible senior consultants and ensure a common direction for the educational effort.
• Develop and implement educational initiatives, follow up on evaluations and strengthen the framework for supervision and guidance.
• Assume personnel management of education doctors, including recruitment of onboarding doctors and handling personnel and educational pathways.
• Contribute to recruitment, talent development and appropriate staffing in collaboration with the department’s other managers and duty planners.
• Represent the department in relevant educational forums, committees and steering groups.

You report to the department leadership and participate in the department’s management work. The educationally responsible senior consultants report to the chief consultants in their respective specialties, and your role will therefore be to ensure coordination and collaboration across.

The position also includes clinical work by agreement with the department leadership.

Who are you?

You are a specialist in geriatrics, endocrinology, respiratory medicine or infectious diseases and have experience with medical postgraduate education.

Department of Medical Diseases is a large medical department with activities at both Herlev and Gentofte Hospital. We house four specialties with their own professionalism and educational environments.
