Mathematics teacher with a heart for the early years at Korsager School's 2nd grade

We are a well-functioning public school with a steadily increasing number of children in the City of Copenhagen. We are located in the heart of Brønshøj/Husum and have plenty of nature around us. We are 90 skilled and happy staff and just under 800 sweet pupils distributed across three–four streams. We have good subject rooms, smartboards in all rooms and best of all, we are a staff room filled with smiles, warmth and helpfulness.

Core task

The second grade in our lovely early years team is missing a colleague. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about the students’ academic and social development and wants to work at a school where we prioritise teamwork. As something special at Korsager School we prioritise fixed lessons each week, where the two primary teachers (the Danish and mathematics teachers) have the class together. This provides an opportunity for either group work or joint teaching.

We see it as a great strength for the students’ learning and the teachers’ possibilities for professional sparring around didactics and classroom management. In addition to this fixed common time with the class, each year group has fixed weekly hours for co-teaching.

At Korsager School we place a high value on the two-teacher principle and the year-group concept. This means that we plan subject coverage based on the year-group team. Collectively, the role includes mathematics in one class, art in two classes, possibly music in three classes (depending on your experience and competence) as well as co-teaching. All subjects are for the second year group.

If you are a newly qualified teacher, you will teach 23 lessons per week, as extra time is provided for preparation; otherwise it is 25 lessons per week.

Whether you are newly qualified or experienced matters less, as long as you are curious about your subject, care about classroom management and are open to sparring with both your immediate supervisor and your team. As an incoming teacher at Korsager School you must be clear in your classroom management and appreciative in your approach to students, parents and colleagues.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions according to the current agreement with KLF and within the framework of local pay formation. The appointment is a permanent position of 37 hours per week. In connection with the appointment we will obtain a child and criminal record certificate and take references. Employment on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
