About Ålholmhjemmet

Ålholmhjemmet is a dementia care home with 46 apartments. Here we work to ensure that our residents experience safety, dignity and quality of life – around the clock and throughout their entire disease trajectory.

We are certified according to the Eden Alternative and work from a person-centered approach, where we see the person before the disease and the task. The residents’ life history, habits, wishes and relationships are therefore an important part of the care and support we offer.

With us you become part of a close multidisciplinary collaboration between social- and health-care assistants, social- and health helpers, nurses and management. Your role with us

As a nurse you will be part of a professional community with the two other nurses in the house. At the same time you will have a special nursing professional responsibility in one of the house’s teams.

You come close to both residents, their relatives and your colleagues. Therefore it is important that you both have a strong clinical professionalism and the ability to create calm, trust and direction around you.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

• ensure high quality in the care and treatment of the residents
• coordinate and follow up on complex care and treatment pathways
• ensure that health-professional documentation complies with the municipality’s guidelines
• contribute to implementing professional guidelines and instructions
• be a professional role model and support reflection and learning in the staff group
• guide and contribute to the development of competencies of social- and health-care assistants and social- and health helpers
• quality assure selected professional areas
• fulfill the role as key person within documentation, adverse events and palliation
• contribute to a safe, respectful and constructive collaboration with the residents’ relatives.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a trained nurse with experience in the dementia field or elderly care. Ideally you have a diploma module or other relevant continuing education in dementia, but most importantly is that you want to bring your knowledge into play and develop practice with us.

We imagine that you

• have knowledge of dementia diseases and person-centered care
• recognize that relationship-building, communication and a person-centered approach are essential parts of the nursing professional effort in dementia care
• preferably have knowledge of the Eden Alternative principles
• are professionally well-founded and can convey your knowledge in a respectful and practice-oriented way
• work independently, in a structured and analytical way
• maintain calm and overview in complex or pressurized situations
• see the individual person while also having an eye for the whole
• have experience with teaching, guidance or professional sparring
• communicate clearly and create a sense of safety with residents, relatives and colleagues
• actively contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration and take responsibility for the community
• meet others with respect, curiosity and openness
• want to help develop both the professional quality and the good working environment.
