Mathematics teacher for 7th grade at Højdevangens School

Welcome to Højdevangens School – one of Denmark's few pure lower-secondary schools with only 7th, 8th and 9th grade. It gives a very special culture, a strong youth environment and a high academic tempo. We are seeking a teacher who can teach mathematics to our 7th year in a permanent position. You will join a strong team of teachers and educators, who work closely on both students' well-being and academic progression.

In the 26/27 school year and several years ahead there will be two subject professionals in all Danish and mathematics lessons, so you should be willing to work closely with others, be curious about your own and shared practice, and dare to open your classroom to colleagues.

Most importantly, you should have the desire and talent to combine subject knowledge, relationship-building and clear classroom management, and be motivated to work with young people who can face adversity and frustrations, but also great successes and joys in their development. Perhaps you are an experienced teacher who wants to try working life at a lower-secondary school, or you are newly qualified. The most important thing is the enthusiasm for lower-secondary life.

About us

Højdevangens School is part of the 4-school collaboration in Midtamager, where students attend 0.-6. grade at Dyvekeskolen, Sundbyøster Skole or Gerbrandskolen and then continue in 7th grade at Højdevangens School. We have expanded to ten tracks from 7.-9. grade, and will have in the upcoming school year 23 general classes, three reception classes and a separate boomerang program for students with various academic and social challenges.

Because we bring together students from several schools on Amager, our lower secondary is a living mix of cultures, personalities and learning styles. It provides a dynamic, inspiring and sometimes unpredictable everyday life, but also a strong academic environment and a close, collegial collaboration, where we lift as a team.

We believe that when we need to move young people forward, we must be able to work within the municipal framework, but we must also dare to think creatively and innovatively. This means, for example, that we have a large student talent program, that we prioritize chess at school, school football, Green Council and other activities across classes and year groups, and that as staff we are occasionally engaged in unfamiliar reflective and philosophical conversations.

We are physically located close to the metro and buses, and there is an opportunity for free parking here.

Employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time appointment. We would like you to start as soon as possible and no later than December 1, 2026. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay setting. In connection with the employment we will obtain a criminal and child protection check and take references.
