About the job

When Denmark strengthens its armed forces, every crown must give the greatest possible combat power, and that requires procurement to be carried out efficiently, correctly and transparently. With us you help ensure this as we procure everything from ships and aircraft to IT systems, through controls and processes that the entire Ministry of Defence group uses. What you cannot do from the start, we will teach you.

About us

We develop and maintain the procurement processes and controls that colleagues across the group rely on when they purchase for the Defence. When a process becomes simpler, or a control becomes sharper, you can feel it across the group. We come from different backgrounds in procurement, finance and processes, and we actively help one another and solve tasks together. We emphasize professionalism, curiosity and responsibility, and the tone is informal.

About the position

You will play a central role in developing and strengthening procurement processes and controls across the Ministry of Defence’s group. You help ensure that the processes are efficient, transparent and support correct purchasing.

Your tasks range from developing and improving processes to risk management, data analysis and follow-up on controls.

Specifically, this means that you will, among other things, help to

  • develop and strengthen the control environment, as well as follow up on controls, deviations and corrective actions
  • improve procurement processes and prepare provisions, guidelines and process descriptions in the procurement area
  • work with risk assessment in procurement processes, including identifying and assessing risks, and contribute to the development of relevant controls
  • prepare reporting and decision material that provides an overview for management, and prepare briefs and presentations for leadership forums
  • prepare and communicate professional presentations and notes, and communicate clearly, precisely and professionally with stakeholders across the Defence and other authorities.
  • analyze procurement data from SAP using Excel and BI tools.

A concrete task could be to assess whether a control can be changed based on data and risks, and prepare a decision brief on how the change can be implemented.

You will receive a thorough introduction to our processes, systems and control environment. If you are strongest in one area, we will train you in the other so that, over time, you can move freely between them.

As you become self-sufficient, you will take responsibility for your own area and have the opportunity to influence its development – in a department that is evolving, close to stakeholders across the Defence organization.

About you

You have a relevant academic degree in economics, e.g., cand.merc. or cand.merc.aud. You may be newly graduated, or have many years of experience – preferably from a larger organization. Experience with process or control work, e.g., risk assessment, SAP or documentation, is an advantage, but you do not need to know everything from the start.

You succeed with us if you are curious, take responsibility and follow tasks through – even when you need to point out a deviation. The most important thing for us is that you:

  • are analytically strong, quickly identify risks and deviations and can assess their significance for the whole
  • have an eye for connections in processes and can identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate clearly, precisely and professionally in Danish, both in writing and orally, and can convey complex issues to different audiences
  • work systematically, create overview and take independent responsibility to seek necessary knowledge, ensure progress and follow up on tasks to completion
  • have strong collaborative skills and thrive on working across the Defence, as well as with external authorities.

Employment terms

The employment is governed by the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and several academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is potential for negotiation of allowances. The position is associated with an employer-funded pension scheme.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must be security cleared and maintain the clearance throughout your employment.

As an employee you are obliged to render service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
