About the job

Would you like to help make patient pathways come together?

Nuclear Medicine is seeking a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator for a 12-month parental leave replacement.

When a patient comes to Nuclear Medicine, the visit is often part of a larger diagnostic, treatment, or control pathway. In the secretariat, it is our job to make the many pieces fit together – and right now we are looking for a new colleague who wants to be involved.

One of our colleagues is going on maternity leave, and therefore we are seeking a qualified medical secretary or health administrative coordinator for our secretariat.

With us you will be part of a secretariat where we solve tasks together, use each other’s competencies, and help each other when the day’s plan suddenly changes. We have close contact with both patients, multidisciplinary colleagues in Nuclear Medicine, and many different departments at the region’s hospitals.

It requires overview and coordination, and sometimes creativity, to make patient pathways come together. That is exactly what makes our work both important and varied.

What will you be working with?

A large part of our work is about ensuring that patients get the right examination at the right time in their progression.

Your tasks will include

  • booking, invitations, and registration in WIM
  • coordination of patient pathways internally in Nuclear Medicine and with referring departments
  • telephone contact with patients and partners
  • reception function
  • preparation for clinical conferences.

We have speech recognition, and traditional typing is therefore not part of the secretariat’s tasks.

-Who do we hope you are?

You are a trained medical secretary or health administrative coordinator and would like to use your professional expertise in a daily life with many points of contact.

We imagine that you

  • have an eye for a good patient journey and provide good and professional service
  • can create an overview and prioritise, even when everyday life changes
  • take responsibility for your tasks and at the same time see the value in solving them together with others
  • communicate politely and clearly with both patients and partners
  • are eager to contribute to a secretariat where we help each other and share our knowledge.

You do not need to know the specialty in advance. The most important thing is that you want to get to know the area and use your health administrative expertise.

A secretariat where we lift together

You will have engaged health administrative colleagues around you, and we prioritise giving you a good introduction to the department and thorough training in your tasks.

We share the secretariat’s tasks. This does not mean that everyone necessarily does the same all the time, but we take joint responsibility for the operation and help each other when needed.

We emphasise open communication, professional sparring, and that there is room to ask questions – even when you are new. At the same time, we expect everyone to contribute their perspectives and ideas on how we can solve our tasks in the best possible way.

A bit about Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine at Aarhus University Hospital is a high-tech department that performs examinations for a wide range of clinical specialties, including oncology, infectious diseases, and cardiology. We therefore participate in many different patients’ diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up pathways.

We work closely with the clinical specialties we serve and have a broad contact surface both at Aarhus University Hospital and with national and international partners.

The department consists of about 130 staff distributed across many different professional groups. Interdisciplinary collaboration is therefore a natural part of daily life, and we emphasise both high professional standards, good collegiality, and a work environment where there is also room for humor.

Social activities across professional groups and departments are arranged for anyone who would like to participate.

Salary and terms of employment

We are seeking a qualified medical secretary or health administrative coordinator for a maternity replacement of 37 hours per week. The position is non-shift-based, and working hours are on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Commencement date is January 1, 2027, or by agreement.

Application deadline is November 9, 2026, and recruitment interviews are expected to be held in week 47.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory child-care certificate.
