About the job

We are passionate about both fundamental and specialty-related nursing for the vulnerable medical patient.

If you share our interest in the internal medical field with specialties in pulmonology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology, and you want to develop your skills in meeting patients, here is the opportunity for both a permanent position and a maternity-leave temporary position, both 37 hours per week.

Whether you are a recent graduate or have many years of experience, it is important for us that you are properly introduced to the department, so you feel secure and competent in performing your tasks. Therefore we offer a well-structured induction and training program, which includes:

  • Joint introduction to Regions Hospital Randers
  • Simulation training in acute medical conditions as well as use of TOKS and ABCDE
  • Shadow days in the ward
  • Close contact with the introduction coordinators nurse
  • Teaching in our medical specialties
  • Bedside training
  • Training in highly specialized tasks such as NIV treatment and Actilyse
  • Introduction to interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Introduction to the Medical Department, including work with occupational health, quality, and patient safety
  • Teaching in our IT systems
  • Training and education in collaboration with our cluster municipalities, including training in patient discharge and advanced treatment of alcohol misuse
  • If you are a recent graduate or have less than 1 year of seniority you are offered participation in the course Good Start
  • Expectation and evaluation conversations after 1, 2, 3, and 6 months focusing on competence assessment and well-being.

About us

We are a well-functioning group of nurses, social and health care assistants, patient assistants, medical secretaries, and doctors who are eager to welcome you. For us, interdisciplinary collaboration is central to a good working environment and good patient pathways. We work across our 3 clinics and the inpatient ward, and you are never alone as a nurse on duty.

We carry out a large and exciting educational task and have many different trainees and students in the ward and clinics each year.

We have a diverse and professionally engaging daily life where no day is the same. We have an informal tone, where honesty, good collegiality, and humor have a big role in everyday life. We organize social events and annual theme afternoons. Most days we have a topic for discussion, and once a week our specialists take turns teaching us on relevant topics.

We place emphasis on high quality care for the individual patient and their relatives. Our patients often experience stigmatization due to lifestyle diseases or misuse. We strive to counter this. We see the person behind the illness and meet everyone with respect and dignity.

Right now we are working on

  • Simulation training in connection with the medical acute patient
  • Cultivating fundamental nursing care
  • Competence development project within the pulmonary medical specialty
  • Interdisciplinary competence development of nursing staff through frequent teaching sessions
  • LKT for urinary tract infections
  • Integration of Fundamentals of Care as a reference framework for nursing

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Wants and dares to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Wants and dares to be professionally and personally challenged
  • Wants to be a daily supervisor for students and trainees
  • Has humor, good spirits, and contributes to a positive working environment in a sometimes busy and unpredictable daily life
  • Wants to work with equality in health
  • Dares to make some noise
  • Is curious and reflective and thinks creatively about solving tasks
  • Can prioritize tasks and work independently and structured
  • Finds it exciting to help shape the development of nursing in our department, with the good patient pathway in focus
  • Thrives in a department with close leadership and focus on each employee’s well-being and job satisfaction

Salary and terms of employment

  • 37 hours
  • Work every 4th weekend in 8-hour shifts with the possibility of flexibility.
  • Maximum 6 to 8 evening or night shifts spread over four weeks, but if you prefer exclusively night or evening shifts this is also possible.
  • Influence on your own duty roster in "MinPlan" – as we value work-life balance
  • Wage supplement for work on the medical inpatient ward
  • Competence placement no later than after 6 months
  • Good opportunities for personal and professional development
