About the task

We are looking for employees for the team surrounding a resident who needs attentive support and a recognizable daily life. The resident is nonverbal and does not have a spoken language. This requires particular attention to body language, expressions, and signals, and to your ability to adapt the communication.

Your most important task is to create security through a stable relationship, presence, and a daily life that starts from the resident’s needs. The resident can sometimes react outwardly, but this is not part of everyday life. Therefore, you must be able to remain calm and work preventively and de-escalate conflicts based on shared professional agreements.

You work most of the time 1:1 with the resident, but in a house where there are also colleagues. The task therefore requires both that you can work independently in close contact, and that you actively participate in the collaboration on a common professional direction. We place emphasis on seeing the person behind the support need and valuing both small progress and the good moments in daily life.

Your everyday life with us

• Create security and predictability through presence, relationship, and clear structure.
• Support the resident in daily routines and activities with respect for wishes, needs, and boundaries.
• Be attentive to nonverbal signals and adapt your communication and approach.
• Work preventively and de-escalate conflicts based on shared professional agreements.
• Document observations and pedagogical efforts and contribute to shared reflection in the team.

We are looking for someone who

• Is trained as a pedagogue, nurse, pedagogical assistant (PAU) or has a similarly relevant social- or health-professional education.
• Has a valid driving license for passenger cars (category B).
• Would preferably have experience with nonverbal communication and individually tailored support, as well as with working preventively and de-escalating conflicts.
• Can maintain overview and work patiently, even when interaction becomes challenging.
• Is stable and responsible and understands the importance of continuity in relational work.
• Can follow a common pedagogical approach while also reflecting on your own practice.
• Contributes to a respectful collaboration and openly and constructively participates in professional discussions.

About Melius Husene

Melius Husene is a private residential care facility with an attached activity and social interaction offering in Store Merløse. Our pedagogical framework is based on recognition, relationships, communication, and structure.

Melius Husene must first and foremost be a home for our residents. A place where one is met as the person one is, and where one’s own wishes, needs, and boundaries matter for daily life. With us, the resident should not have to fit into a particular box – we arrange the support and daily life around the individual, rather than expecting the individual to fit into a ready-made offer.

It requires staff who are curious about the resident’s perspective and who take care to understand each person’s way of communicating and being in the world. Common professional agreements, documentation, and collaboration should support the most important thing: that the individual experiences safety, is taken seriously, and has the opportunity for a meaningful daily life in their own home.
