IPS consultants for Frederikssund Municipality

After a year of Ungeløftet the City Council has decided to invest in enabling more citizens over 30 to have an IPS intervention. Frederikssund Municipality is now seeking two IPS consultants for citizens over 30. As an IPS consultant you will work with citizens with mental disorders or vulnerabilities and help them move closer to ordinary employment or education.

You will become part of a dedicated team that has grown in line with the development of Ungeløftet. Today the team consists of six IPS consultants, of whom one already works with the target group over 30. With the two new positions we will be three IPS consultants who going forward work with citizens over 30, while five work with young people in Ungeløftet.

Your role

As an IPS consultant in Frederikssund Municipality you will work with citizens aged 30 and older. You will be their primary contact person and work purposefully towards employment or education based on the IPS method.

You start from the citizen's own wishes, interests and resources and work with employment as a goal – not something the citizen must first become ready for.

Your tasks will include

• support and motivate the citizen towards employment or education
• identify resources, wishes and opportunities together with the citizen
• reach out to companies and create concrete job opportunities
• match the citizen with a job or education
• build and maintain relationships with companies and partners
• work closely with internal and external actors
• follow up and ensure progression in the programs

You will have your own caseload and great autonomy in planning your work. Together with the citizen you coordinate the path to the goal and monitor closely – even after the citizen has secured employment.

Because IPS is an evidence-based method, you should be prepared that results and workflows are continuously evaluated. You will also have employment-related authorities tasks in connection with some of the citizens you will be working with.

You will become part of a well-functioning, good-humored and dynamic IPS team with high professionalism, sparring and a shared focus on good results.

Five of the eight IPS consultants will be dedicated to Ungeløftet for young people aged 15-29, while three IPS consultants going forward will work with the target group over 30. The three IPS consultants will be based at the Town Hall, where a large share of our partners and referrers are located.

As an IPS consultant you will, however, have many bases. Your workday will include, among other places, at the town hall, at companies, in psychiatry and with other partners.

You enter a developing effort with active IPS pathways and good opportunities to build new programs, reach out to companies and develop collaborations with both companies and educational institutions.

• have a relevant educational background and drive and a desire to help citizens pursue their dreams of employment or education
• can inspire and engage companies to see new opportunities and create the right solution for the citizen
• want to work systematically according to the IPS method
• can work independently, be trustworthy and persistent, and have a respectful approach to citizens, colleagues and partners
• can create an overview and think in holistic terms together with the citizen
• are a skilled communicator and an attentive listener

Experience with the IPS method and/or the employment and education field is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The IPS consultant works according to an evidence-based method, where the citizen's own wishes and goals are the starting point, and where the intervention as far as possible is integrated with treatment in psychiatry.
