Varde Municipality's dementia care home Skovparken is located in Ølgod about 20 km north of Varde. Here around 50 staff take good care of our 31 fixed residents. We have the opportunity to hire professionals with several different educational backgrounds, and we are also open to different preferences regarding day or evening shifts.

How we welcome you

We consider it a given to ensure an optimal welcome and will among other things offer you a mentor. You will continuously have the opportunity to reach out to resource persons, and there is always the possibility for sparring and knowledge sharing. You can receive supervision both during your start-up and later in the process - either in groups or individually.

All staff have self-chosen working hours, so you will experience that we give you as much influence on the work schedules as possible. Your working hours must of course be compatible with the operation of Skovparken and our need for professionalism, but if you, for example, want a 5-2 arrangement, a combined position or something completely different, we will surely find a solution that works for both parties.

If you are newly trained or inexperienced in the dementia area, we offer training in the specialty and have ongoing supervision opportunities. The entire staff has received training, so we ensure a consistent approach to residents, relatives, and colleagues. We take relationship work very seriously, and as a new employee you will be offered the Health Authority's FFR course, so that we all have a common foundation and language for our approaches.

We see our primary task as creating security and good everyday moments together with the residents. They should feel that we are here for them. We see the person behind the dementia disease and therefore do not set requirements, but try to find everything that creates value, meaning, and joy for the individual. Our residents should have the opportunity to use their senses, so we see it as meaningful activity when they move from department to department or move things around a little.

The dementia field is exciting, but as we also experience high emotional demands in our work, we constantly support each other, speak openly about both joys and challenges. We have a continuous focus on well-being, and we value our good working environment.

Facts about the workplace

We have 31 fixed residents and also a housing unit for holiday stays for home-dwelling citizens with dementia. During the day there is an affiliated dementia day home with four places.

We are about 50 staff, and professionally we are distributed among social and health care assistants, assistant nurses, non-qualified staff, health workers, nurses, kitchen staff, cleaning assistants, house assistants, students, and our substitutes.

You will be employed in a permanent position, which in principle is 37 hours/week.
