The position is permanent and full-time.

The position will involve close collaboration with the other teachers in the upper school about one’s own and others’ practice and it is expected that you can undertake a class teacher role, with the complexities that come with it.

You must have an extraordinary drive to create participation opportunities for all students and it is expected that you, in addition to contributing to the subjects, are willing to dive into some of the “other tasks” described above.

Background about the school

At Vestre Skole the student population is broad and you will meet students from all social positions and levels of ability. We are currently in the middle of a major project around reflection on one’s own practice and related didactic development. This means that leaders will be close to the teaching in the classroom, feedback is worked on, and it is expected that one is prepared to subject one’s own teaching to scrutiny.

We need a teacher who

• is strong in parent collaboration and engages in the collaboration with a resource-oriented approach to development and communication
• is persistent in succeeding with the students and takes responsibility, together with their team, to realize the students’ potential
• can follow the interdisciplinary model at level 1, with the accompanying efforts and documentation, or is ready to learn it
• is motivated for interdisciplinary collaboration and is able to reflect on and adapt own practice in relation to recommendations
• can participate professionally in meetings and initiatives in the inter-professional collaboration
• can write status statements with balance in both students’ strengths and challenges
• knows the municipality’s four sights and strives to practice them in daily life

We need a teacher who is ready to throw themselves into co-creating processes.

It is important that you are well-versed in possibilities for participation and have worked with side-by-side task construction with the corresponding effect of students’ engagement and release of academic potential.

We seek close collaboration between our current teachers and other professionals who can both receive reflections on their own practice and contribute to reflections on others’ practice in a constructive and co-creative way.

Our students need reliable adults with a professional language, firmly grounded in meeting the students where they are and with a large professional heart. You must take the students seriously – not literally.

At Vestre Skole our ambition is for teaching to be created collectively, with shared preparation and shared courses.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary is set on the basis of the applicable collective agreement and a concrete assessment of your education, your documented professional experience and your professional and personal qualifications.
