About the job

Do you enjoy environmental science problems that don’t always have an obvious answer?

Then we have a few here for you.

In Tårnby, urban development, airport, infrastructure, businesses, climate, nature and the environment come together. That creates environmental tasks where different considerations meet, and where the good solution requires more than just looking up a paragraph.

Right now we particularly need more hands in the wastewater sector. Therefore we are looking for a new colleague for Nature, Environment and Climate, who wants to work with water, environment and regulatory tasks – and who thrives on translating their expertise into practical solutions.

Welcome to your new workplace

In Nature, Environment and Climate we work broadly with nature, environment and climate. Some know a lot about water, others about soil, businesses, nature or climate. No one can do it all – but together we can achieve a lot.

We use each other, discuss cases and challenge each other’s judgments. We have high ambitions for our professionalism, but a good solution should not only be technically and legally sound. It must also work in practice.

Everyday life can be busy, and today’s plan doesn’t always hold until the end of the day. Therefore it matters that we can ask for help, share our doubts and enjoy good collaboration along the way.

We also solve environmental tasks for Dragør Municipality as part of the binding municipal collaboration.

Here is your daily life

Wastewater will be your starting point. Climate adaptation, urban development and new rules mean that the area is in motion, and that we both have classic regulatory tasks and new challenges to tackle.

You will work with legislation, professional assessments, permits and decisions. But good regulatory handling also means understanding the problem, asking the right questions and being able to explain a professional assessment so that it makes sense to the recipient.

Depending on your experience and professional profile you may, among other things, end up working with:

  • wastewater permits and other regulatory handling
  • wastewater in construction and development projects
  • climate adaptation and handling of water
  • collaboration and dialogue with utilities, advisors, citizens, businesses and other authorities
  • development of our workflows and regulatory practices.

We are primarily looking for the right colleague – not a person who fits perfectly into a fixed box. If you have experience or special interest in other parts of the environmental field, for example soil, groundwater or environmental protection, that is also interesting to us. We will tailor your task portfolio based on the department’s needs and the expertise you bring.

What you must be able to do

Maybe you already work with wastewater. Maybe you come from soil, groundwater or another environmental area. Or perhaps you are relatively new to the job market and looking for a place where you can develop professionally.

You may be an engineer, biologist, geologist, environmental technologist or have another relevant natural or environmental education.

Professionally, we emphasize that you

  • have a relevant natural or environmental education
  • have experience with or interest in wastewater, water, soil, groundwater or other parts of the environmental field
  • have experience with regulatory work and environmental legislation – or the desire and ability to learn it
  • can translate your expertise into practical solutions
  • communicate clearly and professionally in both writing and verbally.

As a person you are professionally curious and want to understand problems – not just process them. You work independently and take responsibility for your tasks, but you should also be willing to use your colleagues and share your knowledge.

You must be able to prioritize when several tasks call at the same time, and be able to engage constructively in dialogue with people who do not necessarily see a case the same way as you. Here you must be able to be solution-oriented without compromising your professionalism or regulatory role.

We do not expect you to be able to check everything off.

What you can expect from us

You will have a job with professionally interesting environmental tasks and the opportunity to follow a case from the initial problem to the solution that is actually implemented.

Urban development, infrastructure, airport, businesses, housing, nature and water must function side by side in Tårnby. This means that environmental expertise often has to work together with other disciplines and interests – and provides tasks that both challenge and develop your professionalism.

As a leader I believe that responsibility and professional freedom go hand in hand. You will have room to use your expertise and solve your tasks – and you can count on sparring and help when you need it.

And you will have colleagues who take both the professionalism and the sense of community seriously.

If you become curious, we are also curious about you.
