About the job

Are you interested in sustainability and the construction industry's green transition? Do you want a study-relevant job where you have the opportunity to solve LCA-related tasks and build insight into the procedures behind environmental product declarations (EPD) and independent environmental documentation? We look forward to hearing from you.

Get hands-on experience with environmental data and EPD processes

As a student assistant you will be a central driving force in the daily operation of EPD Denmark's secretariat as well as in selected LCA tasks. You will gain a thorough understanding of the standards, methods and processes associated with EPD Denmark, and also learn how an LCA and an EPD are developed. You will touch all stages of the creation of an EPD and gain a good understanding of the machinery behind both calculation and quality assurance of environmental data.

Your daily work will alternate between independent administrative operations, dialogue with the industry, and deeper LCA professional discussions with skilled specialists.

Your responsibilities will include, among others

  • Registration, quality assurance and administration of EPDs
  • Publication of approved EPDs and news on the website
  • Handling of ongoing inquiries and support via e-mail to, among others, building material manufacturers, LCA consultants, clients and other stakeholders regarding EPDs
  • Updating and maintaining templates and procedure descriptions
  • Participation in smaller development tasks relevant to EPD Denmark and LCA work

The position is 7-15 hours per week, and we offer great mutual flexibility in planning the working hours to fit your lectures, exam periods and submissions.

A curious engineering student with an eye for detail and interest in LCA

We are looking for a colleague who combines academic curiosity with a structured approach to data and procedures.

We imagine that

  • You are currently pursuing an engineering degree or a related technical/science-based program - preferably in your final year of your bachelor’s degree, or you have just completed it
  • You are interested in documenting environmental effects and have knowledge of LCA (ideally via an LCA course in your program)
  • You are interested in construction and the building industry and are curious to learn more about it
  • You are willing to work independently, and you seek knowledge and sparring when solving tasks
  • You enjoy numbers and details, and you are ready to respond to customer inquiries to EPD Denmark

You will become part of Teknologisk Institut

You will become part of our Center for Sustainable Construction, where about 20 colleagues work with dedication on, among other things, life cycle assessments and circular economy in construction. Collaboration in the center is characterized by good relations, humor and professionalism.

At Teknologisk Institut we believe that technology improves business, society and people’s lives – technology for a better future. Our work is based on solid expertise, independence and innovation. As an employee with us you become part of an independent knowledge center with broad interdisciplinary breadth, where we translate the latest knowledge into practical and holistic solutions.
