The Danish Environmental Protection Agency is seeking a team leader with personnel responsibility for the Office of Pesticide Regulation

Opgaver

The primary task in the Office for Pesticide Regulation will be to implement and drive the Environmental Protection Agency's pesticide strategy in practice.

The task portfolio includes, among other things, work with the Environmental Protection Agency's pesticide journal reporting system as well as two other management systems (MAB and BMD), integrated pest management (IPM), training for the use of pesticides and related authorizations, area regulations and guidelines (e.g. for golf courses and wash facilities), inspection of sprayers, control, horticultural nurseries, pesticide research, handling EU work with the Framework Directive on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides, etc.

You will also become the team leader for research involving and production of genetically modified organisms.

As team leader you will have the daily professional and personnel responsibility for a dedicated and cross-disciplinary team consisting of about 10 employees.

The team's core task is to translate the political pesticide strategy into concrete actions and results that reduce the pesticide burden in Denmark through the procurement of and funding for research and advisory projects, administration of and guidance on the rules in the area, dialogue, control and new technologies as well as research and production of genetically modified organisms.

As team leader you will support and strengthen the organization's leadership capacity with responsibility for operations and people management. You must ensure stable, efficient and timely deliveries and work systematically to ensure the best possible use of resources in your team.

You will report to the Office Manager and exercise leadership within the priorities and frameworks set by the Office Manager. The role has a strong operational focus and is essential for the office to function effectively in practice. You will conduct close follow-up and ensure progress in task execution in collaboration with the team members.

• Can navigate safely in the cross-field between the professional and the political, and have a well-developed understanding of how to act supportively in relation to political decisions and translate strategies into concrete regulatory actions.
• You have strong skills in stakeholder engagement and can bridge different perspectives and ensure constructive collaboration across the organization.
• Have experience working in a politically governed organization, e.g. an agency or a ministry.
• Have experience navigating an IT-system landscape and a natural curiosity to implement solutions that can support and streamline employees' task execution.

You recognize yourself as a diligent and well-founded profile with a master's degree in your background. Your educational background is not decisive – the absolutely most important for us is that you have experience with people management. You must be passionate about motivating, developing and creating well-being for your employees in everyday life, while using your analytical sense to set a clear direction for the team.

Sikker Kemi is one of the Environmental Protection Agency's central professional areas, where work is done with regulation and control of pesticides, biocides and chemicals, as well as oversight of the area. The area’s primary task is to regulate and monitor the area to ensure that Danes and the environment are not exposed to harmful substances from, e.g., consumer products, pesticides and industry.

We are currently about 125 professionally experienced employees, who work in Odense and Slagelse. The way of working is characterized by collaboration and trust, with a focus on delivering results of high professional quality. Sikker Kemi is organized into four offices: an office that assesses and approves pesticides, an office that regulates chemicals, an office that controls the area, and an office that works with pesticide regulation. We are seeking a team leader for the team that works with the use of pesticides in the Office for Pesticide Regulation.

Løn og ansættelsesvilkår

The position is permanently classified as chief consultant with people management responsibilities. Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the current Comprehensive Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Employment as chief consultant with people management, with base salary according to the agreement and any allowances. For this position the expected total salary is 67,394 - 74,615 DKK per month incl. pension (August 2026 level) for full-time employment, depending on documented qualifications and experience.
