About the job

Do you want to help take care of Bornholm's unique nature and landscapes?

Bornholm contains some of Denmark's most unique and varied landscapes with protected natural areas and a rich fauna. We are looking for a committed nature employee who wants to work with a broad field of authority tasks within nature protection.

You will become part of Nature & Environment in Planning, Building, Nature and Environment, where we work closely across disciplines. We believe that the best solutions are created through dialogue, high professional standards and a holistic view of the tasks.

This is a newly created position that will contribute to preparing the necessary nature registrations and consultation responses that form the basis for environmental assessments and local plans, so that development and growth can be created on Bornholm.

Your tasks

You will have a varied everyday life with both regulatory processing, professional assessments and nature registrations.

You should, together with your nature colleagues, contribute to regulatory processing in nature, which is expected to include the following types of tasks:

  • Regulatory processing of cases in accordance with the general protection provisions of the Nature Protection Act as well as the Habitats Regulations and the Planning Habitats Regulations. Including assessments of projects' impact on protected nature, Natura 2000 and Annex IV species.
  • Registration of § 3-protected areas as well as Annex IV species such as sand lizards, amphibians and bats.
  • Contribute to environmental screenings and environmental assessments with a focus on nature protection interests.
  • Assist with case processing in accordance with protection lines in the open countryside (including the prehistoric protection line, the forest building line and the lake protection line) as well as protected stone and earth dikes (Museum Act).
  • Collaborate with the planning and building case area on nature-scientific assessments in relation to planning tasks and building permits.
  • Support the handling of the Nature Protection Act's rules on the public's access to nature as well as signs and outdoor advertisements in the open countryside.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant natural science education such as biologist, landscape manager, forest and landscape engineer or another relevant education
  • have experience with or interest in regulatory work and nature protection legislation
  • can translate your knowledge and the legislation into professionally well-founded statements and consultation responses
  • work in a structured manner and take responsibility for your tasks
  • thrive on dialogue and collaboration – with citizens, authorities and colleagues
  • communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • see the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and actively contribute to joint solutions.

Therefore, choose us

At Plan, Building, Nature and Environment you will become part of a professionally strong community, where we help each other and work closely across nature, planning, construction and the environment.

We offer among other things

  • An exciting and diverse position with broad professional breadth
  • Opportunity to work with some of Denmark's most valuable nature and cultural environments
  • Great influence on the planning of your tasks
  • Committed colleagues with high professionalism and good humor
  • Flexible working conditions and good opportunities for skills development
  • An employer characterized by trust, integrity and collaboration.
