About the job

You will become part of a staff group that has an ambitious, busy, structured and at the same time cheerful everyday life.

Welcome to ward M20

You will become part of ward M20, where we work with treatment and care of patients with a mental disorder and substance dependence. We work based on cognitive behavioral therapy, value an equal partnership with the patient, and offer a multidisciplinary approach depending on the patient’s individual needs.

The patients are voluntarily admitted and are motivated for treatment. The treatment courses last around 3 months. The patient pathway is described and recently revised. As part of the treatment, most patients are home on leave on weekends where they practice skills learned in treatment.

M20 is an integrated ward with space for 25 patients. We use minimal coercion and work intensively with de-escalation.

You will be the contact person for 3-4 patients and follow them throughout the entire admission.

”We will be the fixed anchor for the patient. We show the patient that there are people who care about them and do not look at them askance, even if the plan did not hold, or one stumbled.”

  • Nurse on M20

Your daily life in the ward

You will have a varied day, where you, in addition to your nursing professional tasks, support the patients in maintaining a stable daily life with meaningful activities for them. You will, for example, assist patients with making homework for group programs, filling out relevant forms, planning weekend leave, finding strategies for substance use cessation and training alternative thoughts and actions. When you are introduced to cognitive therapy, you will also participate in group therapy programs and psychoeducation.

We actively and continually work for a good working environment and take pride in being helpful, flexible, curious and engaged. We hold ongoing staff meetings and have two annual theme days.

”We see great development while the patients are here, and it gives great joy to be part of giving the patients hope.”

Why should you apply for the position with us?

It is important for us to support a good learning environment and ensure that you get off to a good start. Therefore we tailor your introduction to the ward and the patient group based on your competences and experience.

We also offer you

  • Coaching on patient pathways, ups and downs and good advice. We discuss challenges, develop together, and get input and different professional perspectives on the course and the challenges we face.
  • Influence on the planning of your workday.
  • A professional workplace characterized by an informal tone, with good opportunities for personal and professional development as well as shared responsibility and influence.
  • Mentor scheme.
  • Supervision/nursing professional guidance

We are looking for you!

  • To be considered for the position you must be a licensed nurse.
  • We are looking for someone who is curious about the specialty and can contribute with relevant experience and professional knowledge.
  • Psychiatric experience is not a necessity, and if you are new to psychiatry, we will make sure you are well prepared.
  • You are patient in your relationship with the patient and are good at motivating and inspiring development and change.
  • You are keen to work therapeutically, both in groups and individually, and to participate in psychoeducation.

Salary and employment terms

Start date January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

You will be employed in mixed shifts. There will be weekend shifts in a rotation of every 2nd weekend, however with the possibility of every 2nd/4th weekend.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement for non-leading staff in the Sundhedskartellet area, entered into between Sundhedskartellet’s parties, including the Danish Nurses Organization and RLTN, with pay placement as a nurse.

The ward is staffed around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules of the current working hours agreement.

Would you be our new colleague?

If you have questions, or would like to know more about the shift composition, the position or the ward, you are welcome to contact Chief Nurse Anne Carlsen at tel. 23 83 05 29.
