About the job

Would you like to work at the intersection of somatics and psychiatry – and have time to make a real difference?

Are you a nurse with experience from the medical-surgical ward, psychiatry or both? Do you thrive with complex patient pathways, where both clinical observations, relationship work and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

At Night Ward 5 at Psychiatric Center Ballerup we are looking for 2 nurses who want to become part of a highly specialized ward for patients with severe anorexia.

With us you will have the opportunity to work with the full scope of nursing. You will meet patients with significant somatic challenges and complex psychiatric problems. At the same time you will have time to build relationships and follow the patients through a treatment course where you make a noticeable difference.

Why you should choose us

  • Become part of Denmark's largest specialized offering for patients with eating disorders.
  • Gain a unique combination of somatic and psychiatric nursing.
  • Work with patients where your clinical observations and nursing assessments are central to the treatment.
  • Receive a thorough introduction and mentorship program.
  • Specialize in a highly prioritized field.
  • Become part of a strong multidisciplinary community characterized by professionalism, engagement and humor.
  • Experience a workplace where there is time for presence, relationships and high-quality nursing.

A specialty where both body and mind are in focus

At Night Ward 5 we treat patients with severe anorexia from across the Capital Region and Region Zealand. Patients often have complex and long-term illness courses with both serious somatic complications and psychiatric comorbidity.

This means that you as a nurse will have the opportunity to work with

  • somatic monitoring and treatment
  • prevention and management of somatic complications
  • relationship work and milieu therapy
  • motivational work and recovery
  • psychoeducation for patients and relatives
  • interdisciplinary treatment courses with high professional complexity

Who are you?

You are a trained nurse and can come from both somatics and psychiatry.

Maybe you currently work on a medical department and want more time for patient relationships. Maybe you come from psychiatry and want to strengthen your somatic competencies. Or perhaps you are seeking a specialty where both aspects come together.

We emphasize that you

  • are curious about a highly specialized area
  • have an eye for both somatic and mental health issues
  • thrive with responsibility and independence
  • are a good collaborator in a multidisciplinary team
  • are eager to contribute to a strong professional community

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact Chief Nurse Dorte Pindstrup at phone 2036 3878 or 3864 7180.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week with start on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

There will be weekend shifts on average every 2nd–3rd weekend. Currently 6-8 shifts over 4 weeks are expected.

You will be employed according to the agreement for non-leading staff in the Health Cartel area. You are during employment covered by the current working time agreement entered into between the Regions’ Pay and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses Organization.

Night Ward is staffed around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules of the current working-time agreement.
