About the job

Registered nurse sought for Department of Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, section for Brain Injury 611, Rigshospitalet Glostrup.

Do you want to work with highly specialized nursing, complex patient pathways and neurorehabilitation? Are you motivated to use your expertise, take clinical responsibility and make a difference for patients, where even the smallest progress has great significance?

Then it may be you we need in our team!

Welcome to a specialty with high professional standards

In section 611 we receive adults from across Eastern Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland with severe acquired brain injuries after, for example, trauma, stroke, cardiac arrest or serious brain infections.

We have 12 highly specialized beds, of which two are semi-intensive beds for patients with cuffed tracheal tube. Many of our patients come directly from intensive care and still have complex and extensive care needs.

Neurorehabilitative nursing is an independent discipline, where the clinical eye is crucial. Many patients cannot tell themselves what is wrong. Therefore you must be able to observe, assess and act on even small changes in the patient’s condition.

You will, among other things, work with neurological observations, tracheostomy, dysphagia, tube feeding, seizures, delirium, pain and spasticity. At the same time, the basic nursing, the relationship with the patient and cooperation with relatives are central elements in the rehabilitation.

You will follow the patients through longer pathways and become an important part of their journey towards as much independence and quality of life as possible.

What you get with us

You will become part of an established and engaged work community with extensive experience in neurorehabilitation. We prioritize professional development, sparring and a good collegial community.

We offer you

  • Five weeks of introduction outside the normal schedule, so you get a safe and thorough start.
  • Mentor/buddy system the first year.
  • A competence program with five levels, whether you are newly graduated or experienced.
  • Weekly mono- and multi-disciplinary teaching as well as good opportunities for courses and continuing education.
  • Close sparring with clinical nursing specialists.
  • Opportunity to participate in research and professional development.
  • A strong interdisciplinary community with engaged colleagues, where we help each other and also have room for humor.

We prioritize flexibility and influence over your working hours. You can choose full-time or part-time, day/evening or day/night as well as weekend shifts every second, third or fourth weekend.

Who are you?

You are a licensed nurse. You do not need to know the specialty in advance; we provide a thorough introduction and help you get on the right track. Newly graduated nurses are also very welcome to apply.

We are looking for you who

  • Are professionally curious and want to develop your clinical eye.
  • Thrive with complex patient pathways and can act independently.
  • Want to take responsibility and contribute actively to the interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Meet patients and relatives with care, respect and presence.
  • Contribute positively to the community and want to develop yourself together with us.

Come by – we’ll provide the coffee!
