About the job

One of our skilled nurses is retiring - are you the next on the team?

Would you like to be part of a strong professional community where high quality, patient-centered nursing and development go hand in hand?

At the Plastic and Breast Surgery Clinic we are looking for a dedicated nurse who wants to make a difference for patients and relatives throughout their journey. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to develop your competencies in a department with 2 specializations with great breadth, high professionalism and close interdisciplinary collaboration.

One of our very experienced and valued colleagues is retiring after many good years with us. Therefore, we are looking for a new colleague for a permanent position of 32-37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

With us you will be part of a committed team where we help each other, share knowledge and work purposefully to develop nursing. Based on our Strategy for Nursing 2026-2028 we want to create the best patient pathways while also being a workplace where employees thrive, develop and have influence on the future of nursing.

We are curious about your ambitions and prioritize both professional and personal development. Therefore we take career and competence development seriously and support your interests and development wishes throughout your working life.

About the outpatient department

The Plastic and Breast Surgery Clinic consists of both a plastic surgery track and a breast surgery track, where we treat patients with breast cancer, skin cancer and malignant melanoma, among others. You will receive thorough training in both specializations, starting in the track that best fits your wishes and competencies.

In outpatient we have approximately 24,600 annual visits and house 12 outpatient rooms , of which two are used for minor plastic surgical procedures under local anesthesia. We also have independent nursing outpatient clinics with tasks such as:

  • Refilling breast implants
  • Wound care and suture removal
  • Monitoring of skin graft
  • Seroma drainage
  • Rehabilitation and follow-up discussions
  • Telephone contact
  • Follow-up after breast cancer surgery and precancerous lesions
  • Teaching at our patient school for patients with malignant melanoma, by selected nurses

You will become part of a strong team of 19 nurses , where professionalism, quality, development and collegial sparring are highly prioritized. In the clinic we have a nurse who is studying an Executive Master’s degree and who, on a daily basis, functions as our clinical nursing specialist. In addition, the department has employed a lecturer in nursing who helps to raise our professional standards.

We are based in Roskilde but will move to Køge in early 2028 when the quality fund building is completed.

Your everyday life with us

You will have an exciting and varied everyday life in close collaboration with doctors, secretaries and other collaborators. We are just a 5-minute walk from Roskilde Station, where the clinic is on the 1st floor and our inpatient department on the 3rd floor.

The Department of Plastic and Breast Surgery is the only one in the Zealand Region and houses highly specialized functions, including:

  • Cancer packages for breast cancer, skin cancer and malignant melanoma
  • All types of breast reconstructions
  • Surgery after massive weight loss
  • Complex facial reconstructions
  • Micro-surgical procedures

We are a little over 100 employees in the department and part of a young university environment with high research activity, international collaboration and a focus on evidence-based and person-centered practice, as well as an educational site for several professional groups. In the department you will meet an accessible management, flat hierarchy and a culture where everyone contributes to the good patient pathway in the best possible working environment.

We are seeking a nurse who

  • Has at least 1 year of clinical experience , preferably in surgery
  • Is interested in plastic surgery and breast surgery
  • Values placing the patient as a person at the center of nursing
  • Is flexible, adaptable and thrives in periods of busy workload
  • Can work independently and proactively
  • Values interdisciplinary collaboration and a good working environment
  • Is curious, robust, courageous and shares knowledge
  • Wants professional development – both personal and professional

You will receive a thorough introduction with a mentoring program and an onboarding program from Zealand University Hospital.

The position

  • 32-37 hours per week
  • Shifts Monday–Friday between 7:30 and 16:00
  • After training, you will participate in weekend shifts in the inpatient ward about every 8th weekend (day or evening shift). You will not be the person in charge.

Application deadline: Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at 8:00

Interviews: We will invite on an ongoing basis for interviews, so please send your application as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you and telling you more about our department.
