At Bostedet Brovst we are looking for a nurse or a social and health care assistant for a permanent full-time position.

We are looking for a colleague who wants to use their health professional skills in work with adult citizens with severe mental disorders, dual diagnosis and complex support needs.

With us, relationships, professional judgment and collaboration are decisive. We work closely with the daily lives of citizens and combine health professional and social-pedagogical efforts to create coherence, security and opportunities for development.

About us

Bostedet Brovst is part of the Area for Social Psychiatry in the North Jutland Region. We are a highly specialized social-psychiatric residential facility with room for 20 citizens and a staff group of almost 25 employees.

We work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative with a focus on citizens' hope, wishes, resources and opportunities to master their own lives.

Our work is built on close collaboration between pedagogues, nurses, social- and health assistants and other professionals.

We have different professional perspectives, but a common task: To support each citizen to have as much influence as possible on their own life and to create a meaningful everyday life.

As a health-professional employee you will be an important part of this effort, where the connection between mental and physical health plays a central role.

What does a workday look like?

The everyday life is varied and includes both planned efforts and situations that require professional assessment and flexibility.

You work, among other things, with health-professional observations, care, medication management and follow-up on citizens' mental and physical health.

For example, it may involve observing changes in a citizen's condition, supporting a citizen in a treatment process, following up on medical treatment or collaborating with a general practitioner and psychiatric treatment services.

You contribute to the health-professional documentation and work with prevention, health promotion and patient safety within your competence area and according to current instructions.

At the same time you are part of the citizens' daily life. You engage in relationship work, motivational conversations and support for daily activities in close cooperation with your colleagues.

The work requires that you can use your health-professional knowledge independently as well as see it as part of a joint rehabilitative effort.

Our professional approach

We work with recovery-oriented rehabilitation as a common professional foundation.

We apply, among other things, Open Dialogue and Motivational Interviewing and work with Low Arousal, coping plans, social skills training and relational pedagogical approaches.

We work systematically with goals, sub-goals and documentation, while adapting the interventions to the individual citizen's current needs and wishes.

The health-professional effort is an integrated part of this work. We focus on the connection between citizens' mental and physical health and on ensuring quality and continuity in treatment and care processes.

The target group

Bostedet Brovst is a social-psychiatric residential facility for adult citizens aged 18–72 years.

Citizens have severe mental illnesses and complex psychosocial difficulties. Many also have challenges with substances, somatic health problems or significant difficulties with social relationships and daily life. Some citizens also have legal restraints.

Citizens require substantial support, care and professional intervention around the clock.

The complexity of the target group means that there is often a need to think about mental, physical and social problems together. Therefore cross-disciplinary collaboration plays a central role in planning the effort.

We have 18 places for temporary stays under the Social Service Act § 107 and 2 places for longer stays under § 108.

The work requires patience, perseverance and the ability to see resources and possibilities, even when development occurs in small steps.

We are looking for you who...

You must be educated as a nurse or social- and health care assistant and have an interest in psychiatry, dual diagnosis and the connection between mental and physical health.

Experience from psychiatry or social psychiatry is an advantage but not a requirement. We emphasize your health-professional approach, your motivation and your interest in developing yourself in working with the target group.

Salary and employment terms

We are looking for a nurse or social- and health care assistant for a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week .

Start: By agreement.

The position entails rotating hours, and shifts can be scheduled on different weekdays and times around the clock.

There is the possibility to arrange work every 2nd, 3rd or 4th weekend as well as shifts of either 8 or 12 hours.

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement for the relevant professional group.

Nurses

Salary and employment terms according to the current collective agreement for non-management staff in the Sundhedskartel area concluded with the relevant organizations.

Social- and Health Care Assistants

Salary and employment terms according to the current collective agreement for social and health personnel concluded with FOA.

Wages are determined according to current rules, including any local pay formation agreements and relevant qualification allowances.
