About the job

We are continuing to welcome new youths to our 4 special placements at MosaikHouses and are therefore seeking a nurse for our newly formed team. MosaikHouses are anchored in Faxe Social Development Center – commonly referred to as FSU.

Do you want to be part of a professionally strong and multidisciplinary team that is in the process of starting up 4 completely special placements for youths in a house of their own? Do you want to work with presence, presence, contact, care and health- care quality? Are you excited by sensory integration, movement and holistic support? Do you want to have influence on daily life? And are you passionate about working with youths with special needs – youths who at the same time are physically challenged in relation to reduced functions and complex care needs? Then perhaps it is with us you should apply.

At FSU we believe that it matters for all people to have meaning through relationships with others, and that this helps give life purpose. We believe that everyone has resources to participate in communities that both obligate and include. Therefore we work to support the youths in opportunities to participate in meaningful communities – regardless of challenges.

We highly value good cooperation, both with colleagues, relatives and external partners. We have many different professional backgrounds represented, and interdisciplinary collaboration is at the center. As a nurse you will become an important part of this collaboration and will play a central role in supporting the health care efforts around the youths.

About the job

We are seeking a motivated nurse with professional depth, an overview and a desire to work closely with practice in our 4 new placements, where there are particularly good conditions for youths with multiple disabilities and extensive support needs.

The care facility houses a total of 12 places distributed across 3 houses for youths under and over 18 years with accompanying respite beds. Our 4 newly established placements will house youths who share a zest for life with our other youths – they simply have a greater need for support in relation to care, nursing, health follow-up and daily structure due to their multiple functional impairments.

They are youths we often know already via our STU (competence development program for youths with special needs) and activity offerings, and we use these offerings to get to know the youths really well. The youths have a higher proportion of 1:1 support hours per day than the remaining residents and as a nurse you will be part of the daily staffing.

As a nurse with us you will become part of the daily practice and you will have an important role in ensuring coherence between care, pedagogy, health care observations, documentation and collaboration with relevant treatment and partner professionals.

Your duties will include

  • Individual care, nursing and health care support in daily life.
  • Health care observations, assessments and follow-up on the youths’ well-being and health.
  • Medication management, including dispensing, administration, documentation and follow-up according to current guidelines.
  • Training and sparring with colleagues around the youths’ individual health care challenges.
  • Contributing to creating safety and quality in nursing tasks, including e.g. nutrition, respiration, epilepsy, mobilization, enteral feeding or other relevant health care issues depending on the youths’ needs.
  • Structured pedagogical and health care work based on the individual needs.
  • Work with sensory integration and use of sensory room as an important part of daily life – thorough training provided.
  • Support for personal development, well-being and maximum possible independence.
  • Collaboration with relatives, doctors, therapists, specialists and other relevant professionals.
  • Planning and carrying out activities in both individual and group-based settings.
  • Documentation in relevant systems and contributions to health care and pedagogical plans.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary meetings, reflection and professional development within the team.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a trained nurse.
  • Wants to work with youths with autism spectrum disorders, cognitive impairment and multiple disabilities.
  • Ideally has experience with the target group, the disability field, the social sector, neuro-pedagogy or complex care needs – but this is not a requirement.
  • Has interest in both the health care and the pedagogical work.
  • Can work relationally, with presence and respectful interaction with youths who may have limited communicative abilities.
  • Is patient, listening and good at creating safe relationships.
  • Can work structured and independently, while thriving in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Has good communication skills and flair for written documentation.
  • Wants to contribute to building a new department and help shape professionalism, workflows and daily practice.
  • Can maintain overview and calm – even when tasks require special attention and professional judgment.

We offer

  • A meaningful and independent position where you can make a real difference for youths with special needs.
  • Opportunity to apply your nursing expertise in a close multidisciplinary environment.
  • A professionally strong and supportive team with pedagogues, social and healthcare staff and other relevant professions.
  • An workplace that places high importance on a good working environment.
  • Thorough training in the target group, the youths’ individual needs and relevant health care tasks.
  • Ongoing supervision, sparring and competence development.
  • Ability to influence daily life and the development of the 4 special placements.
  • Shift patterns, including day/evening and weekend – until 2027 current plan is to work every 2nd weekend, but we aim for the team around the 4 placements to have the same opportunity to work every 3rd and 2/4 weekend as the team in the other houses in 2027.
  • Salary according to current collective agreement.
